I also get this result. I think this is because of the new sample file. I haven't downloaded/found it. There are new samples for space fire bird somewhere. And if you have this file in your samples directory when playing these back, i bet it would work. Samples usually affect playback for old mames, but I thought newer mame would be better about this, maybe same goes.

also, bea99's wolf106 recordings work & his wolf146 don't work

woah, then there is a serious problem, your inps aren't playing back for either of us which means it's two strikes against you. Hmm I will try again maybe there's an nvram or other sound issue.

Could this be another game where any automatic frame-skipping will now muck-up the playback, similar to some of the early 80s Sega games?

I forgot i did a restore on my puter .. I would have to get this rom again. My Luck one of the roms sites is having problems. Hopefully i can get this rom again.. I still have'nt found the other one i used to have that dissappreared.
