All players vote:ban for Street Fighter 2' hacks (especially

Post by Kale »

I'm really aganist the hacks of Street Fighter 2':I hate them all.But there is one in particular(called Rainbow set)that have a proper control advantage. In particular:
-All the fighters can do fireballs(!)
-You can change the fighter by pressing 1p+2p start button(what are you,Shang Tsung?)
-Some other minor things.
In other words,too easy.
Please tell me if can be banned and,if not, what are the reasons.

No. Why? These hacks were in the arcades, and seeing as there were
plenty down here in NZ, there must be a hell of a lot of them in the
US and Japan...

Besides, I need all the leaderboard points I can get... :)
How about all those versions of Pacman? Or Galaxian?
And if it's so easy, you're welcome to try to beat anyone's score on
any of the SF2 clones... (You've gone for virtually everything else,
it seems) :)

I agree Rainbow Edition is pretty lame, although I don't know any
reason to ban it under MARP rules.

Try to make fireballs with one jump with L.punch button and then you
all will understand why it's too easy...

" (You've gone for virtually everything else, it seems) :) "

LOL

anyway, the SF hacks don't have a "proper control advantage" like you
stated. You're getting confused with the bowling games, which were
intended for play with a trackball, but with a keyboard and knowledge
of the "sweet spot" a perfect 300 is possible for anyone who plays.
The SF2 CE hacks came out in arcades with joysticks, and anyone can
play with joystick or keyboard at home. There's no advantage there.

The SF games don't have a theoretical maximum score. While it may be
lame to just throw 50 slow Sonic Booms in a row, it does require a
little more skill than the bowling games. Plus, the "technique" can
always be improved. Or maybe there's another character that can finish
opponents off quicker and get better time bonuses. And I don't see why
being able to change characters in mid-game is soooo lame to you?

Just because you hate the hacks doesn't mean they should be banned. As
Barry said, if you think it's too easy, step up and take those 1st's.

Because everyone who would see a "good" recording of sf2rb is able to
make the same things.Pick your best recordings:no one is able to make
a good one just after check your INP.YOU ARE TRING TO TELLING ME NO?
If you are so able to finish Strider just after check my
INP,c'mon,show me your great abilites!
To Barry:Just don't saw that you are first in
that "game"."Congratulations!"
To all the others:check my description of sf2rb.I'm aganist only with
that damn clone set!
PS:why all the other games are banned with "too easy" reason?Tell me!

Hmm How did the subject change from Sf2 to Strider? You are a great
Strider player Kale, but no need to that up in this thread.

Regarding the Sf2 hacks or whatever they are.. why play them Kale if
you don´t like them?

And please try to calm down a little Kale, you sound very "demanding"
in your way of say "ban them or..."

Ps:Kale, Nice Joe and Mac recording BTW! I have alot to learn
there :=)

Nobody is saying that they're going to beat your Strider scores after
watching your inps. No, what I'm saying is that it does take a modicum
of skill to take first on these hacks. Case in point, your score is
500k under Barry's, yet you still finished it... so what happened
there?

By the way, now you're complaining that the "bosses" (Balrog, Vega,
Sagat, M. Bison) are "too weak"? Ummm, of course they were weakened in
Champion Edition. They weren't going to leave things like Sagat's
Jumping Short as it was in regular SF2, staying out the entire time
and doing a Roundhouse worth of damage and hit stun. Bison is still
incredibly good in CE because of the Psycho Crusher, but that's it.

Here's a novel idea: if you don't like the game, DON'T PLAY IT.

Oh, and if you wanna know why other games were banned because they
were "too easy", try downloading some .inps to see. That's what this
site is here for, isn't it?

OK, I've had a look at your sf2rb recording, Kale. You strike me as
someone who has only just started playing this version. Note that
you don't have to jump to do multiple sonic booms, and they can be
done much more quickly than what you did.

And if the bosses are so easy, how did you lose those rounds to Sagat
and Bison so badly? To maximise points? No, you'd have that have
hit them a few times to actually get points out of that tactic...

OK,every story comes to a end.I just wanted to see if someone
tells "Street Fighter 2 hack ban",someone would agree or
not.No,that's didn't happened.OK,it means that I don't have to defend
a position from a ban attack...(I 've made all this loudly thing only
for this:I still hate this game, but, besides, points are points).
PS Now don't tell me that you want to remove sf2rb...:)
