Hi.

I just tried using this message board and noticed how huge it has got since last time I looked in.

As a result, I have set it to hide messages older than 30 days in sub-pages based on message category.

Is that better?

something strange happend to this message (at least after I responded
to it the first time), it doesn't appear in the "New Answers" report,
wonder why that is?

Do you see the 'Older Messages (by category)' section below the 'new messages? That lists the categories. Click them to see the old messages.

I don't know about your 'new answers' query, but I did notice earlier today that when it comes to answers, 'new' appears to mean 'in the last few days', whereas for questions, 'new' means 'in the last 30 days'. I can change the 30 to any number for the questions, but for the answers it always seems to be the same.
