NBA JAM recordings won't work

they were recorded with winmame37b10. I used that version for playback and nothing I do seems to make them playback correctly. I have tried deleting the mame.cfg ,NBAJAM*.cfg ,and navram files and turning off the sound but the recordings still won't play back correctly. any ideas

Auto frameskip can throw off recordings, even on the same system.
Keep trying, maybe it'll work eventually.
