as i said many times in chat i am going buy a new computer (t-bird 900, 128 ram, sb128 pci...) and i need know which is better win98 or winme? things i am looking for are:

stability (MOST IMPORTANT)

dos mode support (with sound) - i plan to play dosmame, dos versions of pro pinball games and more

system requirements (even though both oses will go quite fast)

also consider that winme costs $10 more from the company i am buying computer from and that windows media player 7 sux.

If you're planning to play any DOS games, you definitely do NOT want
to get WinME. It has terrible support for such things. WinME has lots
of extra bloat compared to 98SE too. 98SE is also a lot more stable,
in my experience.

I don't have too many problems with Me, but, yes, it is a lot more
effort to get it running smoothly. Especially if you have hardware
that is not very common. If I were to advise people on Me, then it
would be: Wait a few months until hardware vendors have updated and
debugged their drivers.

Cheers,
Ben Jos.
