Tempest playback problems

I have problems with recording games with tempest for T5. I use Mame32tg3b, and can't make my inputs play back.

I tried starting tempest (without recording), setting the dips, ending the game, and then record the game. It doesn't play back even if I save and reuse the cfg-file that's been generated after the first steps.

I tried setting the dips at the beginning of the recording, but when I try to playback the game it thinks I want to use german language and 2 coins/credit. And of course the game doesn't play back.

Can someone please tell me the correct steps to take to make a tempest recording with the T5 settings.

Yes this is a problem, i have only known one recording to playback
properly (out of 7 attempts) with win32tg3 and tempest, and the same
recording won't playback for the submitter JSW. But JSW's current
better recording won't playback. JSW is going to record with dos
mametg3 in place and i think this may be the only way to get tempest
recordings to playback properly. This is a bummer but hopefully
everyone can find a non NT system to make a recording on with m35tg3
for tempest.

You can still submit the scores because i think it's slightly
possible that others will be able to play things back but the best
stable route to go is to record with dos mame on a 95/98 computer.

Ok, I'll try to find somewhere to make a dos recording.

By the way, I use Win2000, and I remember you (Chad) stating that it
would run dos mame. The discussion was about Arabian in KoA which had
the same problem. I have no problems running dos mame 0.36 and later,
but haven't been able to get mame35tg3 to work. If you post the
settings you use, I would be forever in your debt.

oh hmm, actually did i say i could get it to work in NT or 2000?
naw, wasn't me. i'm suprised you got mame36 to work on 2000.
hopefully this won't be too much inconvenience for 2000 or NT users
to find a dos machine for this game.
