TMNT dilemma

Older versions of MAME default Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to 2 lives, but more recent ones (as of at least mame 36) use 1. All the uploaded inps at present use older mames so there are two lives. I ended up just uploading with an old version of MAME to match, but...can I use newer and just change dip settings to match?

(I had this problem once before, with one of the Head-On games and the top recording by German Krol had two extra cars because it used an older MAME.)

Also, there's a new romset of it (a few betas back) so it just has the default 1. Should that be 2 as well, or no? (Would seem confusing an inconsistent to me to leave it at 1, but I guess everything is confused anyway.)

This was either readjusted or supposed to be readjusted, I thought
the scores had been modified to the 'death at 1 life' point--AD
brought it up a while ago. Play with the newest dips please.

I believe this was fixed as well, I don't have a mame close by, but i
remember the older mames gave you 3 lives and the newer mame gives
you 2 lives. I.e. older mame shows you have "2" lives left and newer
mame shows you have "1" life left.

I think if you start the game with 1 life left this is ok? let us
know if there are any recordings that are not of the same settings as
the current default of the latest mame.

Why does Krool's recording list 316 when he loses his 'one life'
after 240, then?

I don't know if the other ones have been fixed, but if that one is
any indicator, they haven't.

You are right jbd. It could be we fixed tmnt2 and left tmnt alone.
The current mame default is one life and past defaults were two.
Q.T. do you know which url board page has the precident for the final
decisions of how many lives should be in tmnt and tmnt2?
