I see on the Mame WIP page that Land Sea Air Squad has been added to Mame - hopefully in the next Beta release if you're lucky.

Now we'll all be able to see what you guys have been raving on about.

Actually, there was a hint of the game coming to MAME before the WIP
update was posted - Guru-Choc added the roms to it on Arcade ROM
Heaven over the weekend. That was a big tipoff right there. :)

MAME WIP page doesn't say there are any obvious problems with the LSA
Squad driver, and it looks like it is working ok. So I'd say the
chances of seeing it in m37b5 are very, very good. m37b5 is really
shaping up to be what's probably one of the biggest releases in MAME
history, it's certainly going to be something I'll remember. I haven't
been this giddy with anticipation since m36b1, which added support
for another old favorite I was dying to see again, Time Soldiers...
how odd, that was almost exactly one year ago.

With LSA Squad and Caliber 50 (and possibly Guwange, if it's included
and plays similar to the first two), I'll be in "human shooter"
heaven!

Yes BeeJay I have seen the good news!! And I also recived a mail from
BBH last week about The rom..

Storming Party (Wich is the name the game had were i lived) Is a Nice
human shooter, and I hope i have a chance against BBH on the first
place for it. (Probably not hehe)

The thing I remember most of that game is the tune...

I talked to Bubble yesterday on Mirc, and he told me that his beta
test version of Mame037b5 didn4t recognize LSA.. I guess that means
that it will come on the next beta after..??

Cheers

I think Bubble said his beta build of Beta 5 (beta of a beta?) was
dated something like July 7th, which was before the LSA Squad driver
was finished. And since Nicola himself wrote the driver, I can't see
any reason why he wouldn't include his own work in the new beta.

But if it was a later build, then it's time to worry ;) but
seriously... anything can change by release day. I still think there's
a very, very good chance of seeing it.

Well, I talked to Bubble hmm maybe 3 days ago.. and that will be the
18th of July. H said that his latest build was only a few days old
and that makes it about 13-15th of July. But I hope you are right BBH

I can4t wait to play that game again!

Cheers

Just a small note, many drivers are reported but not submited at
once, as was the case of the recent williams driver update. Still,
that doesn't mean it will or won't make it to the next beta, that's
basically the driver's author and ultimatly Nicola's decision.

Aaah, that would seem to explain why the graphics are a bit screwy on
the Williams games in the latest release.

Well, I finally downloaded the LSA Squad roms and was playing along
niceley remembering playing it somewhere sometime.... until I hit the
damn windows key between ctrl and alt..... serves me right for not
immediately changing the default keys for fire etc.....

I look forward to winding it up again shortly.

Now, I'll just go and cry that I can't even get 50% on Gun Bird....
one I was looking forward to playing at home after playing it a few
times at the local chippie while waiting for the Shark 'n Taties to
cook.

Not surprisingly, I have been having a BLAST for the last few days
playing LSA Squad. Despite its tendency to crash on Stage 6, I still
find myself continually going back for more. I knew that I spent all
that time playing it as a kid for some reason. :) It's not that
complex a game, it's just simple human shooter fun. And I love it.

And now I see why QRS kept mentioning the music - it's awesome! Even
though it's just the same track playing throughout the whole game, it
doesn't take long before I'm whistling along with it. I was humming it
at work today too. Seriously. :)

As for Gunbird, I can't get more than 60% speed here either. To get
100% I have to underclock CPU0, and even then it screeches to a halt
when a ton of bullets are onscreen. The Psikyo shooters are neat but
both Gunbird and Sengoku Ace are so similar that one could easily be
mistaken for another.
