I've tried the usual combinations on 7nt_raiden_3120000_win36b16.zip:

With / Without cfg
Frameskip 0 and Automatic
I've tried the Win betas on either side of win36b16.
I've even tried the Dos 36b16 to no avail.

Anyone have any idea on how to playback what I'm sure is an excellent recording?

no luck here either, we may want to mail him, he is very polite when
trying to replay his recordings if they don't work for others, heck
he's so good he can churn perfect recordings out like butter.

I'm sure if we get him to state if he used sound or not will help,
but i also tried both with sound and with out. on the dos36b16 and
win36final. I don't think the nvram issue was involved before
mame36final, so if we can just get him to record in win36 or dos36 it
might work, i notice no-one but vaz has made a recording with windows
in the raiden's and i can never get vaz's recordings to work when he
uses mamelang32 anyway...

I can't get his recording to work right either, unfortunately.

It can't be an NVRAM issue because the game doesn't create an .NV
file... NVRAM was first introduced in m36b14 I think, that's why I'm
always using m36b13 to record Neo-Geo games. But the fact that 36b16
was used on the recording shouldn't really affect it, unless playback
got broken somewhere in that cycle. Hmm....

The new one is a little better than 3.12million's but still poor.

did you try "mame raiden -joy XXXX"

where XXXX is your joystick type from the readme.txt file. dos mame
does not work with a joystick by default.

I couldn't get your raiden playback to work with dos36b16 or win36
final (but that doesn't mean it does not work!) i just don't keep
every windows executables around since they are a pain to use
multiple versions with, so i don't have win36b16.exe. maybe someone
who does can get it to playback...

Great! It works! Game finished, died on second time round on stage
2. Final score was 3,469,310. Poor play? I don't think so! I
would hate to see a good game... Oh yeah, I used MAME32 0.36b15 to
play it back. I'll confirm that score if it is changed to the
correct score...

What are your configuration details? I can't get the new one to work.
It goes further but this time goes out of synch at the first boss
(2nd big tank). I've tried Win36b16 & Win36b15, sound, frameskip, MMX
permutations but it always plays back the same way. These win betas
are real flakey for playback.

I'm having playback problems at the exact same point Tim mentioned...
the Level 1 boss. Win36b16 or DOS 36b16, it still ends up breaking
there when sound is on. With sound off it doesn't go as far...

Please try recording your 4+ mil recording using a dos mame (if you
can get the joystick to work with the -joy option) or with mame32-
36final. if you do not know where to get the mame versions goto

OK, I got MAME32 0.36b15 (closest I had to b16, it didn't work with
0.36 very well), I had sound on (MIDAS, 22KHz), Auto frameskip, and
deleted cfg/raiden.cfg before starting. There are .hi or .nv files
to remove. Also, no joystick settings used.
