The banning of these codes will probably occur it will just take some
time. Sure it is great that there are secret codes - they make the
game fun, mysterious and interesting. The point is that we need a
level playing field for all game on MARP or we will have a situation
where the best player is not the one with the top score but the one
who has found out the cheats. If you can't find these cheats through
normal gameplay then they should be definitely banned. I have
submitted the Bubble Bobble cheats (powerup, diamond room, super) for
banning a couple of weeks ago. Actually you can find out the super
cheat through gameplay (but not the others) but it is not legitimate
to compare a super game vs the normal game - so it too should be
banned. I am not so familiar with the Rainbow Island cheats (another
Taito game) but they should definitely be banned or categorised
differently. I urge those who know those cheats to submit them for
banning ASAP.
<p>
Just to reiterate. Secret codes and cheats are fun BUT they do give an
unfair advantage to those who know them over those who don't. The
easiest way to look at this is to consider a game that you have worked
hard on to master. You play it for weeks and obtain a high score. Then
you are beaten by player that has less mastery at the game but knows a
cheat that gives you 10,000 pt bonuses say - like in Rainbow Island.
How would you feel ...
