You have two choices:

a. Pick the top ten yourselves via the normal voting method from the top 30.

b. Pick ten games out of random from the top 30.(I'll do that... I know enough QBasic to do so... it ain't that hard)

I need to know ASAP please. Thanks

The random is best when picked from all games, but i like keeping as
much of the predefined rules (non changing ones) as possible, so i
have to vote to vote.

I think a random choice for the 10 games since the beginning is too
much risky....the could have a tournament with 10 "Us vs Them", and
it will be 2 months of deadly bore !!!

So, let's take votes first, maybe allowing just 1 (max 2) games per
category (sport, vector, shooter, fighting, etc...), then we should
pick 10 randomly out of the first 30.

This should ensure high quality games in the Tourny, and discourage
gang voting.

let's randomize it - i think it's too stupid to vote and vote and
vote ... and you won't stop the party-voters otherwise!
It's just 4 fun folks !!!

The reason I posted the original group voting technique, was to show
that a few players could manipulate the tournament voting.

If only the top 30 games are in the random pool, a few players still
have a chance to manipulate the random pool.

There are quite a few games below the 30 mark that would be great for
a tournament. There are also quite a few in the top 30 that in my
opiniun would not be good in a tournament.

Why not draw the random games from all the games submitted, removing
any obvious games that should not not be in a tournament.

I vote for random in top 30. That will make it fair.

Here's an idea I got - everyone would select numbers from 1 to 30 -
via the 10 points for "favorite", 1 point for the "10th favorite"

Those numbers I would compare with a randomly selected list, which
will be told to a couple unbiased witnesses. Top ten gets those games
put into the tournament. That way... it'll be completely random.
Heck... you get to vote as well... in one sense.

What do you think?

BTW... on a 10 - 2 vote(I think), we WILL be randomizing... now we
have to figure out how to do it...
