I have uploaded the tentitive rules for the second tournament. Of course, now is a perfect time to argue them. Included are new rules for judging, an altercation with ties, and I guess I couple other things. I have highlited those so you can easily find them.

You can find this on the "Gameboy's Page" link in the Tournament mode of the MARP. After you click that, click "Rules - Tourney # 2" link.

Sounds a bit more comprehensive than the first set of rules. I can go
along with this set as it addresses some of the issues we've
encountered in this tourney. The only thing that I might throw out
there for a suggestion is concerning the tiebreaker for first place.
How about if we did it in a similar manner to some professional
sports by using the 2 players head-to-head results in the 10 games.
If that turns out to be a 5-5 score, then declare it a tie. Just a
suggestion that someone can elaborate on if needed...just don't get
too carried away with how deep we go for a tiebreaker unless there
happens to be a prize involved! ;)

I guess(hope) this is the magic thread that we should post questions
about the Rules?

- It is STRONGLY encouraged to include a screenshot of the game at the
end of the game.

I think this should be forced or not mentioned at all, but not
encouraged. Since it's harder work to make a screen shot if you
forget to at play time or keep forgeting to do it at the end of a
playback. Lucky people who have inps that always playback but don't
give screenshots shouldn't be benefited for laziness by not puting a
screenshot up.

Chad, since you brought it up, I will as well
THERE SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO SCREENSHOTS IN THE TOURNEY.
This is an action replay page, not a screenshot page.
If it doesn't play back, that's your fault. People shouldn't get
credit just for the screenshot...

Also, the minimum rule stinks... What happened to the, if you don't
submit a score, you will receive a 0 in that game?

The minimum rule does not stink, Chris. We are currently seeing why
it is needed. You have situations where a one- or two-hit wonder can
come in and alter the point differential between the players. In a
close race, its effect is substantial. If you are going to
participate in any tourney, then by all means you should participate.
That means to play ALL the games. It can't be that hard to submit
scores for 10 different games...my gosh, we've got players here that
are submitting that many scores every day practically! If you want to
show off on a particular game, that is what regular MARP is for.

Final JoustGod judgement - good rule...:p

JoustGod is absolutly correct - I put these rules in because it's a
sportsmanship issue... a tournament consists of TEN games(twelve this
time), not one.

I'm going to talk about JoustGod's tiebreaker suggestion - I think
that's a good idea - either that or just compare the scores of the
two players head-to-head... again, if 5-5, then it's a draw.

I will upload one more rule - and that one is everyone is strongly
suggested(or perhaps fully responsible?) to watch the message board
for any controversies or possible rule changes that happen right
before the tourney begins.

What do you think of this suggestion?
