Been like that for a while I think, I tried to register a month or two ago and it was disabled then.

Not exactly. You need to e-mail Mark Alpiger himself to verify yourself, and post soon thereafter.
This is to stop spam merchants etc.

A recommendation from a CAGDC member would be useful. I used this to get 'Dazzer' registered over there.
