unable to play this one back with or with out nvram, thought a reset at playback might make a difference but I always get wrong password each time.

Even if -verifyroms will say ok, you will need to update your rom by adding the .id files.
They will help you go through the password screen

ok, so these really aren't "optional" roms then I guess. The bit on these should be switched to required. I'll see if can find the id files and confirm. Making a temporary id file doesn't cut it because you need the right crc to get the password right.
