Discs of Tron Tourney Recordings.

I hate to say this, but 90+% of all Discs of Tron scores were recorded incorrectly. Even though the original machine was the Enviromental, walk inside type, the tourney selection, according to gb, was Upright. Many were recorded on Enviromental, and therefore are invalid. If this involves you, please correct it.
Note: Just selecting Discs of Tron (Upright) from MAME won't do it, you have to adjust the Settings inside the game, first selection on the menu...

Are we saying that my mame035b dotron -record dotron was no good.

I thought that the comment by gameboy was meaning use dotron not
dotrone when recording ?!

Does the setting internally inside the game alter the gameplay in any
way whatsoever ?! I hope not because I can't see myself fluking
another 30k score on this sucker.....

Whenever I make a tournament recording, I expect all the
rules/settings for the game to be in brackets in the 'long name' of
the game. For Disks of Tron, all it says is this:

Discs of Tron (Upright) (Difficulty: 3 - Lives: 4 - Extras: 20K, 60K
(TG))
(t1-dotron)

- nothing about 'environmental'. I imagine that that's where other
people refer to get the game settings. I suggest we accept the non-
environmental recordings. But then - it's not up to me, is it...
it's only my darned site, after all... ;o)

I posted this because it was as an after thought while I was going
through them, but running dotron, which is Discs of Tron Upright, it
still on many people's recording, had the enviromental setting
selected...
I would like to refer to Pat on this one, I would say to do this one
way or the other, but there are currently recordings up there
(tourney) on both settings...

The key here is using the DOTRON romset. DOTRONE is not acceptable.
Default settings are TG. Don't know if the upright/environmental
setting makes a difference or not, but at this point we can accept
either as long as the recording used DOTRON. I checked three
recordings myself and confirmed two. Sorry, BeeJay but I couldn't
playback your recording with DOS 0.35 Final. It just cycles over and
over at the start. Not sure what happened there.

I just tried another test playback myself using DOS 35 Final and it
played to perfection for me.

I'll try it on my work PC tomorrow when I get back to work to see
what happens.

Actually after some testing the only difference I can see with the
Environmental option turned on is that it remembers you want to have
four players and it requires 2 credits to start a game.

BeeJay's recording plays back perfectly for me. Also, setting the
environmental/upright switch also changes the lives to 4/3
(upright=3). Just what settings is this supposed to have anyway,
PatL??? I'm getting the feeling nobody's all that sure...

Thanks Aqua - I'm glad someone else can replay it as well.

I've also confirmed my recording plays back fine on my work PC as
well.
