What does the release of MAMENet mean for MARP?

First, what is MAMENet? MAMENet is a piece of software I picked off from Arcade@Home, but I believe it was released by a RetroGames member of the MAMEDEV team. MAMENet is an extension of MAME32 V35 FINAL, which includes the implementation of networking, I believe it includes TCP/IP - but I've heard it's very buggy
Although... I just found out there's a MAMENet page(http://members.tripod.com/~adcockm), and I've found out that it may be done completely by MAME 36 beta 2! Woohoo!
<p>
But what does this mean? It means before too long we can play against each other in our favorite games in friendly combat(I hope
) Hopefully we can play against each other over a simple 28.8 modem. This would be... so... kewl! Oh... and I know exactly what my first challenge would like to be... nope... not giving information at this time.
<p>
OK... I'm done blabbering... we now return you to your regularly scheduled internet session
