Have you tried Malibu's recording? It crashes during the second level for me.

I tried BBH's recording, and it works fine.

The game always back to windows in stage4,I can't throgh it....One of my friend can got 999990MAX stores,but he tell me the mode in MAME is harder than he ever played

Buggy Genesis emulation is most likely the cause of the crashes. Haze did say at some point that he'd completely re-write the Genesis VDP emulation in MESS, then port it to MAME (thus making it about twice as slow. No, really). I don't think much has happened since though.

I really wanted to improve my score on this but it's not worth it when pretty much every game I played would just randomly crash. I thought it seemed less buggy in earlier versions at first, but it's definitely not the case after all... :\

it's harder in MAME because it only gives 3 lives, no extras. In the regular Genesis version there's extras at 50k and then every 100k afterwards, along with a few other 1-Ups located in some levels.

i'm not sure it matters but it playsback correctly to the advertised score of 656560 for me.
