MARP Elections...
I've been alerted by a couple of people that we're late with elections. And they are correct, we should have started on December 1st.
As the current MARP election coordinator, I do apologize for that one. However, because of this, as well as massive inactivity on my part of this site, I do not feel that it is appropriate for me to carry on as election coordinator at this time.
As far as I'm concerned, the election coordinator should probably default to Mahlemiut (assistant page maintainer) or Zwaxy(the founder), to where they might nominate somebody else to carry on with the procedures, but I'll let them take care of the formalities.
Once again, I apologize for this development... it is therefore appropriate that I take this action.

Any volunteers for election coordinator position?
Requirements are that you must be honest and can not be an editor or running at position which is voted for. And you must be a marper
Everybody willing to help MARP and be elections coordinator, say it in this thread or PM me.
Job mainly consists of running the elections and counting votes.
(search keyword "election" at this forum for more info,
also look at http://marp.retrogames.com/rules/election.htm

No volunteers? Come on.
Then I guess I could run the elections this time? (Possible Regulation Coordinator voting would be emailed to an editor, if I decide to run for another term...uh.)
--------
Anyways, I'll ask as RC now what you Marpers think, should this rule be changed:
a. is removed from office(1 year probation minimum).
?????
b when an editor is removed, Marpers have 2 weeks to apply themselves for editorship...from these contestans -editors will select the appropriate one.
?????
....(Unless you think it's undemocratic for editors to select editors(b), which it actually is
)
Voice your opinions, thnaks

I think it should simply be:3. Editor rules:
a. Anyone receiving less than 50 % confidence is removed from office and placed on probation for a term of at least six months.

i think all it takes is just ability to collect names and make a poll of the people. To Note: There is already a 6 month probabtion i believe for after editor removals. I am going to duck out of being tournament coordinator next year. I think someone with more time to do more than one tournament a year should be that.

I have PM'ed you with a copy of the ballot I sent to (then) Election Coordinator gameboy9 when the votes were supposed to have been cast. It includes a link to the procedures which are supposed to be followed.Zhorik wrote:I'll volunteer to run the election this time around, provided you point me to the election regulations.

If there is an election and you coordinate it, you may also count that as my vote. It will not change.

Ok, I found the election coordinator rules. Here are the relevant bits before I could perform the role of election coordinator for this annual election:
3. How to get in: By accepting the position when the order comes to you.
4. How to get out: Higher position takes the job / Resigning at least two weeks before the election.
5. Order of election coordinator: Zwaxy, any editor, any person appointed by the editors by majority vote.
6. Order of election coordinator in votes involving editors: Zwaxy, any person appointed by the editors by majority vote.
Since this is an election involving editors, the order of election goes from Zwaxy then to any person appointed by the editors by majority vote. So I'd need an appointment from a majority of the editors before I could fill in as election coordinator for this election. The other options are the majority of the editors pick somebody else, or Zwaxy steps in and becomes election coordinator for this election.
Clearly the timelines for the election will need to be redefined since we've already blown well past the specified nomination timeline (November 15, 00:00 GMT to November 21, 23:59 GMT) and the voting timeline (December 1, 00:00 GMT and will end on December 10, 23:59 GMT).
