Defender INP's won't play

Post by eggedd2k »

i'm keen to pick up some tips on defender. i downloaded the top 3 defender inps from the AR site but none of them actually play back - mame just loads and either a) goes through the Defender initial config screen or b) loads up and just goes through the Defender into - scores, title screen etc. nothing ever actually plays back.

can anyone help?

i've tried both ways of playing the inps back - the manual way and the batch file. still no joy.

thanks

You have tried to use the MAME version in which the inp was recorded? (Or the equivalent MAME32 version, if you can't run a DOS version)

i've just downloaded the versions direct from the arp site. now when it give me the choices of sound card, it crashes on each one - unless i pick 0 - no sound and it just takes me back to the dos prompt.

DOS versions aren't easy to get working under any NT version of Windows.

Copy link and paste it to address bar, hit enter.

You might also need http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/unicows11.zip
-unzipped at your mame directory, though all missing dll's should be found using google.

Only needed for MAME Plus or WolfMAME Plus running under Windows 95, 98 or Me. Provides Unicode functionality under Win9x. Not needed at all for MAME.
