Yes, and I play using original controller too. So you could say I'm pawned.
But don't forget pawns can become to knights!
12,5 hours. That takes an iron man concentration and focus +skills of course.

To boost my Tronner status a bit...
I still have couple Tron records:
MAME record, which I intend to keep.
...and scoring 1 million hands crossed, not kidding.

Hmmm... hand corssing I think is an "necessity" in this skill level, in this game, and in this lenght of game

But, congratulations too!

I read that as "pwned". Still works but I clearly need to lay off the FPS.

I assume this record was using the 2nd chip version of Tron?

There's not really a difference between 1st and 2nd..At early levels there is some. At
user levels...only difference is "light cycles".
So that score is REALLY a damn good one.
I could do same, but that would demand some serious playing for one week to several months.
Notice that you can not try a big score at Tron too often, you have only one righthand forefinger.

I have one main trigger finger, but I will alternate fingers when I get tired and then switch back after a short while.
What are the differences in the cycles between chip versions 1, 2 and 3?
All my patterns seems to work with the exception of when I kill all three cycles at the same time. Not sure if it is related to a specific version of mame or any version will do it. The game goes back to the startup screen if all three cycles are killed at the same time.

Tron4.zip is the "old chip" version. Other 3 mame romsets ared new chip.
The difference between tron4 and other roms is mainly the behaviour of bikes, same patterns don't work at tron4.zip as at others, atleast my new chip patterns didn't. I have an 999 991 (8 points short, damn

) inp at marp.
You notice immediately if a game is old chip or new by watching first gridbug timer, old chip has a timer of 1000...and new 500.
Funspot Tron is new chip.
Thanks David for gridbugs inps, will watch them with great interest!

The light cycle bug seems to only happen on wolfmame 0.99.
It works fine on wolfmame 0.78 and mame 0.99u4.
Maybe it's just mame 0.99 in general since I read that it had problems.

it's these types of issues why TG has stuck with 0.78 so long.
once we see a new version that doesn't have these issues(with perhaps a couple exceptions) then we can adopt that.
what is the planned date for "0.100"?
will that be a "final build" of a version or just another beta that will have 0.100u1, etc.?

With a project the size of MAME, you can't expect every single romset to be tested thoroughly. Releases would possibly end up years apart.

When Aaron Giles feels like it.

It'll be the same as any other build. Nothing special, just the one that follows 0.99, and comes before 0.101.

You can help accuracy of MAME by reporting bugs to
http://www.mametesters.org/
It should give some weight for your bug report, if you happen to have world record at that game using arcade cabinet...
Hopefully next official release will be named MAMETurboSub

(Now that they have schematics online too)
Analog control settings should be working better at next release. That should help playing and recording games as Red Baron, Blaster, Paperboy, Starwarses etc.
