Questions about default game options

Post by Rat »

A few settings I'm not sure about, also need to know if they affect playback at marp ?

RDTSC, so this is a Pentium timing thing ? should I enable it when recording ?

Increase thread priority, so is this the same as selecting thread priority through the task manager ? how much does it increase it ?

Direct 3d, I have an average 64mb graphics card, should I enable this option ?

Triple buffering, will this affect recordings ?

M68k core, should I just leave this set as C ?

Cheers,
Rat

Only necessary if MAME runs better for you when using it. No effect on playback.

Yes. This will give the MAME process higher or lower priorty for a slice of CPU time. No effect on playback.

Only if you really need to. Shouldn't affect playback. Note that this nothing to do with emulating systems with 3D video hardware (PSX, Model 1...)

No.

Yes. C core is the slowest, but also the most accurate. The speed difference between the 68000 cores is negligible on any reasonably specced system (>~800MHz). This will affect playback for games that use a 68000 (maybe 68010 as well) CPU. WolfMAME stores this and automatically sets it on playback, though.
