wolfie dips, help

Can I change dip switches at Wolfmame? Tried with wolf82, ESB and starwars...dips change but nothing hapoenes, no extra shields, nor easier difficulty. Is this somekind of TG settings feature of Wolfmame? Lame to use cheat for practice/fun play.

Also tried mameplus 84u5, so that I could use same analog settings as wolfmame, but screen is blank(black) at these games. Can not find mameplus 82 anywhere.
ESB mame default is painfully hard, not same as common arcade default(TG?):5shields, easy diff. Also TG SW settings are not best for practice, when you are padawan...

Did you try clicking "reset game" to make the changes take effect?

And .84 won't read the analog settings from the cfg file, but I'm not sure if that's the problem you are referring to.

Started from clean plate, installed mameplus84u5 new folder, added some romz.
Tried resetting game at SW...No effect.

At mameplus 84u5, SW and ESB, I see only blank screen...as if the graphics wouldn't be emulated due protection :)
Blank screen, showing palette and frameskip info if F-buttoned.
Maybe there's problem with vector graphic games, paperboy displays graphics.

Where to get mameplus 82? (everything after 82 is crap, personal opinion)
Or how to change wolfmame dips at SW and ESB?

Thanks anyway John.

-worksnoh... Tried unchecking hardware stretch.
Tried starting game...ok,ok,enter,5,1,triggers...no sound. Was thinking it might be craphic problem...something like wrong palette background, therefore graphics do not show? Background looks more brown than usually at wolfie. But no sound either, if I did press start the game sequence blindfolded correctly :o

Wonder if others have same problem.

I just tried Starwars and ESB using wolfmame 084u2 (gui) It works as it should. The dipswitch is available and you can alter from easy to hardest, change starting shields, bonus shields etc.

So try 084u2 wolfie to see if that works for you Tommi.

Edit:

Dohh! I just saw that I misread your post... 084u2 is the same.. You were right...nothing changes in the dips.. I will see if I can find a version that does..

Oh well...Wolfie dips do work at SW&ESB. Go to dip switch and sselect service mode... 8O
Dunno why somebody put difficulty and shield settings at dip switch main menu though, don't have any effect changing those...

Empire is much more fun, when playing with 5 shields and easy. Difference between easy and moderate is many fireballs...hope it's TGTS too  :D
