I training more Final Fight and...
My technique to get diamonds and gold bars:
A = button1
Up = cursor/joy up

1. hit barrel (or something) with A.
2. press UP

You can hold or not button A or UP, this have no difference but easiest is:
press A and hold -> press UP and hold too.

But this is very hard to get diamonds or g.b..

If I use this technique A+RIGHT+UP then I get diamonds or g.b. too. I think important is time between pressing A and UP ... but maybe something other. But this is impossible to still pressing A and UP in good time, we are people, not terminators.
Here must be some trick to easy get diamonds or g.b.

Can someone translate info from Novice?

CANAME is beautiful emulator.

Look this:
Image

Is possible to make this in wolfmameplus?

Look this inp on CANAME, enable monitoring (DELETE key) and you will be see that this player used autofire on Button1, I'm not sure about autofire on Directions and Button2 but probably too on one multibutton when he destroy barrels, etc.

Edit:
No, on Directions and Button2 he don't use autofire. He round joy and press Button2.

for japanese players is normal play games with autofire, is not strange

50% of gamest record are with autofire

many games are created and programmed for be plays with autofire, for exemple U.S. Navy and Area 88 (because in these games there is a special code active with autofire only), or Sol Divide...

in some games the difficult increase if you use autofire, exemple: twin eagle.

however, the games settings are always in default (for exemple, in twinkle star sprites them used level 4 difficult and not level 8 like on Marp)

Looks unlikely, based on looking at this source - Caname only supports Neo Geo and CPS1/2 games. It just directly looks at each input port based on the game being played. That is, it has coded in each possible variant of input setups - for general Neo Geo games, one for Neo Geo quiz games, and one for Irritating Maze (trackball). Then there's more for general CPS1 games, general CPS2 games, then the quiz games for each system, and also 3 and 4 player games. Can you imagine doing this for the other 4500+ games in MAME. No thanks, unless you want to wait another year or two for the next release.

That is, unless there is someway to get which input port is mapped to a function.... Haze?

Ok, I think I should be able to add a realtime display of inputs. If I'm lucky, maybe even with cute little arrows too. :)

Good enough for you, Buttermaker?

Sounds pretty good.

This display is great for analyzing your execution. What I don't like though is that it disappears when you press pause. Can you make it stay in WolfMAME?

It's also cool to watch other players slap the buttons.

Yes, it disappears when you pause game. This is not good.

It doesn't remain while paused at the moment, but I'll see what I can do about that.

I'll probably have it accessible via a commandline switch, so that it will display a set player's input.

Here's an example of it as it is at the moment:

Good Barry
I see L=left, 1=Button1. (probably I see correctly)
I think icons (as CANAME) are easier to analysis. But if it is big problem then letters will be good too.

The official awesome replay thread

should be called the boring (yawn) execution argument conversation piece

i taped this last evening
