Can anyone get this replay to work?
http://park7.wakwak.com/~ab2/cgi-bin/dw ... y_h-r.html
It is the penguin brothers replay from the afterburners replay page. If the above direct link doesn't work perhaps try this one:
http://park7.wakwak.com/~ab2/ab2/mame_replay_h-r.html
I know this isn't a marp replay. However, I have tried to get it to playback to the end and it always desyncs at the final boss. If anyone can get it to work, please tell me how. Thanks.

If that's the one that's been there for a while now, then yeah, it should work. You probably need MAME Plus though - but I'm sure the included .cap file would have told you that (assuming I am thinking of the same recording).

I have not tried this one yet, but what is a cap file? it looks like there's a # and then some japanese text, are they actually captioning the recording and what they do at each part of it?

The number is the frame it starts at. I forgot how long it is displayed for by default, but if you have a number next to it is parentheses, it'll display it for that many frames. Then comes the colon, and after that is whatever comment you want to make.

The default is 300 frames (5 seconds for a 60 fps game)
Save the .cap file (with the same name as the .inp that it is captioning) in your inp folder.
