sfposeid

JSW's sfposeid fails to play back to the advertised score. I have him to 7790, with or without sound. There is an obvious desynch somewhere. Seems to me the taitosj.c was problematic for a number of .36 betas, as I used to have some bad Wild Western .inps from around the same time period.

Anyway...

I can't even get this one to work, with or WITHOUT sound... it keeps coming up with a baby blue screen and the word "TILT" in white... :(

I think it should be test under DOS with sound.

I'm getting the same result for the top sdposeid score with win35tg3, although i can't vouch for the dos side, If tar is getting the same screen as shown in dos then this appears to be a playback problem and i'm 2nd. Des can you try? There are no emulation differences between the b and the non b versions if my memory serves me right.

Not. I have WinXP on my both PC now. But maybe I will try to give life my old HD and I will try to run DOS only on it.
Someone remember how run sound card in DOS? I have integrated sound card on ASUS motherboard.

I still have w98 & 35tg3 on my old PC.
But game doesn't work, only works correctly since m36b2.
Beejay has probably selected the wrong version when uploading, or upload a bunch of inp made with m35tg and forgot to turn this one to the good version.

I've tried with several dos versions, and managed to pb to around 2500 seeing a good gameplay, then desync

I've tried with later versions like m55 according to the date of submission.
But maybe there is also a playback problem

I can't play it back but i can get the tilt message to go away when i use XP -nosound and mame36b15 through mame36final and mame37b1, which is probably the latest version that could have been used for a recording dated 2000 April. Maybe if someone were to try with sound with any version in that range.

BeeJay's input is from 2001.
He mailed me that after I edit his recording :

"I guess I probably selected the wrong version when I uploaded the game. It
was definitely working with the version I recorded it with, and playing
exactly as I remember it in the arcades. I'll try and find some spare time
to play this game again real soon to beat this score and get rid of the
unplaybackable version."
