i can't get this to playback (with win32amames) but i also cant get alphamame dos mame to work, so hopefully someone that has dosalphamame working can try it.

Recorded on dos alpha 63.I transfered the inp on floppy to another computer and it playsback on 64 dos as well.I read one of your insightful comments and I agree with you skito. There is no difference between dos alpha 63 64 65 66 or 67.
if only I had played something like snow brothers, snow brothers 2, Zupapa! or maybe Twinkle star Sprites. How about Magical Crystals or some garbage SNK fighting game from 1991.

It played back successfully to the claimed 219100 for me and I have therefore confirmed the score.
I did have some problems with those dreaded "sigsegv" errors getting the dos version of alphamame to run and in the end I had to play the game myself first so that the cfg file existed and then after that it would playback this game without any issues. It seemed to run into problems because I had to "OK" the startup screens twice, once for the usual copyright warning when a game is played for the first time and then again for the known problem with screen flipping in cocktail mode. It seemed to have problems processing the 2nd OK and then crashed when pressing enter on the final "Press any key to continue" screen when launching Mame.

Also, if I don't put in a -soundcard=n setting on my command line, then I get the same behaviour as yourself with respect to it just returning straight back to the command prompt.
Perhaps adding a -soundcard=n setting, where n is the appropriate number for your system, will allow you to run the dos version of alphamame?

bummer that sounded like a workable solution, but no dice, i've always used -soudcard X with no equals sign. But it makes no difference what options i use tgdmame always exits cleanly and quickly, even with a game.cfg or mame.cfg existing (or not), if anyone uses dosalphamame regularly could they send/post their mame.cfg files, maybe there's a thing that i have in there doesn't work well with alphadosmame... regular dosmame does work with my mame.cfg (although shabbily with my gf3 and audigy.)
