Check Crown Golf

Frankie submitted score of "152" stating he took 48 strokes.

The special rules state scoring is 100-#strokes.

That would make his score "52", not 152.

I only note this because I also just shot 48 strokes for 9 holes and will use the formula given in the special rules.

Likely a simple mistake on Frankie's part to subtract from 200 as is done with some other golf games....but those are for 18 holes...not 9 which is likely why only subtracted from 100 vs 200.

yep...when I checked the special rules again I noticed that it was actually YOU that had written that special rule....so I was LOL and shaking my head when I saw that.

On another note, that has got to be the worse golf game I have ever seen. I can't believe they required 6 credits for that 1 version and a ridiculous 10 credits for the other 2 versions just to play 9 holes of that crap.

No way back in 1984 would I have spent $2.50 to play 9 holes of that.

As far as your putting comment...that's how the game is. In the one version I shot a 45 and had 3 birdies even! The problem was on a couple other holes I had 5-putts. It sucks getting on in regulation then ending up with a triple bogey.

I was starting to figure out the direction of the putting a little bit....the aim and timing of your "hit" on the downswing influences if the ball curves off to the left or to the right a little bit.

The bigger problem as you likely saw yourself is power control. The game simply sucks at power control. ...plus almost every green seems to only be the size of a room in a house...way too small.

You get 10 yards from the pin off the hole and you are in more trouble than if you were 30-40 yards off the green. I found even with the "PW" which is already backwards from the "SW"( shows right there they didn't know crap about golf) it's very hard to hit a controlled distance shot. I would sometimes end up hitting past the whole "12 yard wide" green...then back across again..and again..and again in some early runs. I then found with a very quick tap tap for the backswing and "hit" like if you were running in Track-n-Field you can get a 10 yard hit which gets you at least on the green.

It also gives you about a 7 yard putt....which even from 3-4 yards will go in if ball hits the hole.

I agree with you, this is not one of the best Golf games, and on the putting, I've given up on that
