Oh dear, that damned nvram has scotched my plans to be outright champ' of NEO TURF MASTERS Very frustrating. You see what must have happened is this: after downloading a new version of MAME (mame32.64) a newfound nuisance has arisen - even after re-naming the nvram folder, mame now re-creates the folder with the full name (nvram) thereby automatically storing a new nvram file every time Is there any way round this, or is it the 'pain in the ass' way of having to manually delete the file every single time you play??
PS - since the saved file for USA is of no use - do delete it, it's just clutter. Nvram....i could kill it
1. Delete NVRAM directory.
2. Save empty txt file (dummy file) with Notepad into your MAME directory.
3. Rename that file 'nvram' without extension, and it can't re-create the NVRAM directory.
thanks frankie, your solution solved it! NO MORE NVRAM! Now all I have to do is remember to do the same when I download a new version of MAME
So, Grump still has America....not for long (I hope). Oh and thanks for accepting the other record I made on Germany (even if I had to include the nvram)

Oh no you don't You see the best thing about this dummy file? Try to unarchive a new version of Mame to directory you install to as usual... and now watch... it will have problems.. primarily.. "Can't Create Directory NVRAM"
A VERY good thing, for those who'd ordinarily forget [like me]
Just a gaming junkie looking for his next High Score fix.
