that's a good point, can you do a unzip -v 720.zip to give us the crc's from the roms, it's possible mame36 is not verifying the roms when playing (very unlikely but a possibility that the roms are different)

got them, the crcs are the exact same as in my zip file. and i tried your mame.cfg with win98, removing nvram, removing cfg, and removing both, and leaving both. each time it never gets passed the first park (never enters the first contest.) playsback differently each way though, sometimes it never enters the park, sometimes it gets close to entering the first gate... alas.

i tried this one tjt_720b_210320_mame36.zip

Yeah, I even tried using win36final...With new soundcard, frameskip 0, P4-2,4G ;)....BUT win98se still... Didn't playback at my work NT-machine.

I better try win 61, fuck. Or maybe the game playsback only at 36b3 dos or something. Anyway if you remember, I could playback dos36final at my home machine....hmmm, maybe I could do it at my new one, if so, the problem is win98, right...
I'll get back to it soonish.

Anyway, newer version is no problem now(bragging alarm), after machine update...I Can play all the MAME games at 100 now%
Older games run 1000% - 2500%. Shinobi/720/cameltry etc run about 350-600%, when played using 44,1 khz.
Guwange runs nice, no problem.
What is slowest game in mame right now? When I play Primal Rage, it only goes around 160% all the time. And it doesn't even have sound!
I need a machine update soon again :?

The most powerful games actually in MAME are (in no particular order):the Psikyo SH games(Sol Divide,Strikers 1945 II,Daraku Tenshi etc...),Street Fighter the Movie and the Hard Drivin' based games. Some Neo-Geo raster effects(such as the flames in attract mode in Super Dodge Ball) requires lots of CPU power too...

And,about 720,have you tried to use Service Mode at startup like I've described somewhere else???

Well, too new games for my taste anyway...And to find those roms with decent download speed...

What's most important is that Daphne runs 100% :P , just got the dvdromz(or whatfrickin vobs) yesterday, after couple hours of file conversion....NICE! What I disliked was to pay vat 22% + customs 3,5%....total cost for dl, sa and dl2 being around 90 €...geezuz

What good could service mode do?

At least the CPU isn't "powerful" like a SH-2.And btw Aaron Giles just started to emulate the Cruis'n USA hardware...

The Psikyo SH-2 games do run at 60fps for me. Some of the time at least. :) I shudder to think what it'll be like with sound though.

Try without the speedups ;)
