I vote B.

That may not be the way I vote in the event this comes up again as a more general debate of what should or should not qualify as a test of video game skill. But that isn't what was asked this time. What was asked this time is "Is 2 player Mah Jongg less worthy of MARP leaderboard points than Trivial Pursuit, Top Players Golf, or Attaxx?"

Top Player's Golf ? This game has nothing to do here ... Where is luck
part in that game ? 100% skill, 0% luck ... Like real golf.

In the world of Arcade games there is no such thing as luck. No
one "maxes out" a game by just playing and "getting lucky." You have
to know the game, and the strategies, in order to excel. Even in
card games - where the luck of the draw is a major factor - you have
to know enough to learn how to play with the hand you're dealt (no
pun intended).

Even in those games where simply knowing exact patterns (pacman, dig
dug, etc.) will yield maximum scores, the player still has to get out
there and prove they can run the gauntlet, if you will.

Count another vote for B. "A game by any other genre would still be
just as sweet" (bad paraphrase of Shakespeare, sorry). Or maybe "A
game is a game is a game is a game." Like others have put much
better than I, any game with any kind of skill is worth points.

Sincerely,

B is my answer.

You can say that, but these games are in MAME and many of them
require skill. Also, you can say the same about Button Bashing sports
sims that they don't need to be learnt - but they are still allowed
aren't they?

It took me a while to figure out these games - I'm sure that replays
will assist people in learning how to play the games.
I vote B.

They are games of skill. Thinking and planning, just not of reflexes
or hand/eye coordination. MHO, I vote that they stay (B).
