As per rule 3 it is the players responsibility to double-check that their recording plays back correctly. Most of us check a recording plays back correctly before uploading that recording to MARP. If it is close to a time deadline for a tournament, we may upload the recording to meet the time deadline before performing the check that it replays correctly, but for me personally that is the only time I ever upload a recording which I have not yet tested to ensure it plays back correctly.

Cheers,
BeeJay.

yep, good advice..always play back your own inp to make sure it runs ok...and the speed is meeting the requirements as well.

Back after 4 years :)
I've tested this game again, and this time with wolf138 it seems to playback consistantly (at least for me).
The emulation is quite good, except sometimes some black screens during 3 or 4 seconds between the events.
I was forced to play hard to finish the game, because qualifying scores are very very hard in second part of the game ; I don't remember that they were so high in arcade, where I could finish the game almost each time. Here I've managed only once, the main problem is bobsleigh and slalom : for this reason I used the japanese character (Joe Kudou) because the russian sucks at slalom.

I upload my game (10.506), let me know if it playbacks ok.

PS:
I'm planning to build a page dedicated to Decathlet and WinterHeat, gathering all best on each event.
Everybody could send something to me, I need to know if someone is interested ...

Sega Saturn version has 11 events, arcade version has only 8 events.
Links for some codes for the SS version:

Some are working with Arcade version, for example the famous U-D-L-R-B (rolling in speed event, which was a slight advantage in Decathlete, but I'm not sure it is for Winter Heat)

Good news !

Now I'm sure the qualifying scores were lower in (my) arcade, I've found the paper where I wrote some scores, and my best with the russian (Alexei Rigel) was 10.547 with 29"14 on slalom.
Impossible to finish the game here with such a score : even if you select slalom first, the qualifying score is 29"00

I've discovered a tip watching Phantomas input ("up" in straight lines, not shown in demo) which helps a lot for downhill.
With save state to learn best trajectory (thanks Mame) I've smashed down my 13 years p.best of 35"78 with more than 2.5 seconds ! (33'25)

I'm still worst in speed (11"413 vs 11"050) and jumping (152m vs 155m).
Stable in short track (old:43"73 new:43"66) bobsleigh (around 41"50, but only if I manage a perfect start, that's the bad event of the game, needs too much luck with the start, that's why it's very hard to finish a game with Mame settings) and cross country (around 5:00min, best 4'58"12, but even with that, I get lower score than all other events where I can get around 1400 pts ; I must miss something, but what ??? if someone know, thanks to tell)

Concerning the characters, for the moment I've tested those from JAP(joe kudou) RUS(Alexei Rigel) GER(Karl Vain).
JAP is complete, RUS is very good on some events (bosleigh) but sucks too much on slalom, so it's hard to finish the game with him : I only managed once with 28"96 on slalom :) for final score of 10782.
GER sucks a little on jumping, but is very good on downhill, an affair in term of points : it was one of my 2 favourites in Decathlete (with the GBR) and he looks fine here too.

I'm building a page with all my best scores (snap+inp), I will give the link here when finished.
And hope someone else will compete on this

Hi Phil! As I said by e-mail, I still need to find my notes about my VHSs and then my VHSs :) Just a reminder to myself...
But I remember staying in front the opponents, mainly in final sprint, is useful.
