I absolutely disagree. I want to see every technique, every banned trick, and every crazy leeching technique possible. It is not a waste of my time to see these inps. I like seeing them and find them interesting.

All of these arguments could be avoided if marp had an unlimited play area, where people could play the game in any manner they saw fit. It wouldn't take long to code. I have suggested this. QRS would like to see this. I have spoken to other people in #marp and they seem to think it is a good idea as well.

For starters there is no option to submit things to the tips and tricks page. Second of all, the tips and tricks page can't rank scores. If 5 people want to play outrun using the offroad trick and have a friendly competition, I am sure the tips and trick page won't want 5 inps of the same trick. The unlimited area could easily host and rank them. There are many other games with special rules, and not everyone wants to play by these special rules. Also once a special rule is made, the inps that don't follow this rule could be put in the unlimited play area. There would be less arguing and more interesting inps for everyone to see.

No, you aren't disagreeing with me.

All I suggested to Novice was in the future when submitting trick inps etc. that are especially demonstrating techniques he knows are banned elsewhere, to just note that in the description...and any other special notes needed....and submit it as a score of "0".

I didn't say for him to not upload it. He isn't submitting them as tricks. He is submitting them as high scores. If he isn't doing it for the high score then he can easily just set the score to "0"...or at least as others have done note in the description it's a sample of a banned technique or a trick.

So we are in agreement....I have said even with previous inps from Novice they are great to have on the site on the tricks page. That's totally different than submitting them as a high score.

I have suggested about 1-2 months ago that it would be nice if the submit page had some checkbox on the form where the submission goes to a trick's page instead of the high scores....then still perhaps shown in the new uploads but listed as a trick etc.

It's clear you aren't understanding the english there I think. It wasn't about enjoying etc. It was about convenience and supplying some info about the inp in the description or in a readme in the zip archive.

I was asking you for something as a common courtesy....to make it easier for confirmers....to possibly keep certain ones from wasting time watching a trick one when they would rather just verify legitimate scores.

It was a simple request. It wasn't even for me in mind cuz as I have stated before I will NEVER view any of your inps now unless there is a poll about it where I will view it before I vote. I generally dont' watch inps anyway like some do. I only watch ones to decide on a poll vote or for confirmation of the score. I figured other confirmers also don't have gobs of time to verify submitted scores. It would be nice if they didn't waste time on a banned one unless they decided that with that info already provided in your description and with score==0 instead of claiming the high score from everyone else that happened to be playing that game.

You saw how a few others tried to watch your inp but ended up wasting time trying to watch it and see no credit pop etc. Then you told them here you didn't pop a credit until about 30 minutes into the inp cuz that's part of the trick. Ok fine. If you had supplied that initially though in the description it would have saved them the time some wasted in attempting to view it the first time. I hope that clears up the language a little bit for you.

Also out of kindness for other players for that game you should submit a score of "0" unless you actually are intending on submitting it as a high score.

There is a simple sollution.. take my proposal under serious consideration about getting a new section for recordings at marp... I have posted about it, and people want it. Stop the talk that there is already a Tricks and tips site. Why not make a better section that somone will actually upload too? After all the big success with Marp is the automatic upload thing...

To the editors: Take it under consideration, and post a result of what you think. Is that too much to ask?
No more whining, no more recordings that are 'lost' due to banned tricks etc..
