I was wondering if someone (I'm sure Chris would know this more then anyone) could tell me what's going on with Nintendo games being emulated. Is there any chance this will happen? I mean, we already have the Donkey Kong series and mario bros. so what's up with games like Super Mario Bros and Dr. Mario for instance?

Question on Nintendo games.

I noticed awhile back that mame support was being worked on for the
Nintendo VS games, which included both Super Mario Bros., and Dr.
Mario. I dug around a little, and found the source...

January 26, 1999 - Whoo. One of the few things remaining for MAME to
emulate that I am still looking forward to is underway. Howie Cohen
is working on a Nintendo VS game driver. Currently, it is in a very
preliminary stage. A few games are playable however, such as: Golf,
Lady's Golf, Soccer, and Mach Rider (kinda). Being that this is in
very early stages, there is no zapper support yet, so Duck Hunt and
Hogan's Alley aren't playable as of yet. The games colors aren't
right yet either (although Duck Hunt is fairly close). The emulator
does have sound (on the same level as MESS's NES emulation and MAME's
Punchout sound), and there are a few graphic glitches. As it
progresses more, it will obviously be reported here. There are some
early screen shots of Hogan's Alley and Soccer which you can check
out here. More screen shots will be posted in the coming days, or as
soon as thing develop furthur.

Thanks Angry for that information. I'm surprised I haven't seen that
article. Can't wait! Dr Mario is probably my 2nd best game aside
from Galaga. It also won me a Florida title in the 92' Nintendo
Champus Challenge and a spot at winning the world championship which
I placed 5th in the world. Not too bad.
