SPARTAN X new record problem...

hi all,
i just beat the spartan x record after about 8 go's.
the inp plays back fine, but when i send to compressed folder, it is not recognised by mame.
this has never happened before, and am stumped.
i'll upload the zipped folder here for scrutiny/advice.
i'm not letting this one go, it was bloody hard!!!

The zip itself is fine, but I don't think MAME will read INP files directly from a zip file. Besides, since 0.125, INPs are compressed anyway.

yowser,
normally, i click "playback input", then i open the zip file and double click the inp file. this time it does not work, but works if i double click the original inp file, which, as far as i know, is the master copy of the contents of the zip file.
i always do this, and this is the first time i have failed to watch the zipped inp.
i will submit it anyway. someone will say if it can't be seen.
seemed odd.

Plays back fine to the expected score in 0.138. And remember to use WolfMAME for any first place scores...

how long has this wolfmame 106 1st place rule been in place? is it the same for all 1st place scores or just parent roms and non clones?
because almost every 1st place i see is not wolf 106...
if you look right now, the top 5 are 1st place and not on 106...

Use WolfMAME 0.138 instead of MAME 0.138... and use QMC2 if you feel you need to. 0.106 is now 6 years old, newer versions should used if possible. Less playback issues, better emulation, better general performance (especially on non-Windows systems )

Rule 3b:

3b) Since April 15, 2007, use of WolfMAME is required if you take first place in any game. You can download WolfMAME from here.

TG wants wolf106 ONLY, MARP wants any Wolf version (but you'd better use one of the latest versions to play in a more accurate emulation).
Obviously any recording uploaded before April 15, 2007 could be of any version allowed before rule 3b

if we were to talk about it, i'd like to open a thread dedicated to it so others can benefit, if you don't mind?
