Arian Mission from Edusword

Post by xanadu71 »

I don't know if it's a problem but i think there's a kind of leeching in the 1st Area because Edusword fights 1st boss several times and dies in order to restart a part of the 1st Area.
Otherwise the score is good.

What do you think ?

Wow, calm down my friend. I didn't say that you didn't fulfill a MARP rule. Before validate your score, i'd rather have a confirmation of administrators.
If it's ok i will be pleased to confirm it.

The dieing after completing the first boss is OK! Since you can NOT do that infinitively to gain as many ships as you want or get as many points as you want. But i'm not familiar with the warp that seems to happen near the end of the first area before the boss. Edu, How are you able to warp to the start of the first area with out dieing? Is this by chance or by choice?

As far as I know, the warp is an item pickup. It can be done pretty much infinitely, and whoever decided that it would be a good idea to add warps to the game should be shot.

The Warp (R letter) is a game item, yes, but I don't know how to make appear that letter. I think it is a completely random item. Sometimes the R letter appears several times in the same game, but sometimes it does not appear in the whole game.

Regards and sorry if I was a bit rude, xanadu71.

Do you think that "R" letter can appear in others areas ? Even if you knew how to make "R" appear, it's a part of the game.
If it's completely random then the score sounds legit for me.

No problem Edu, you're welcome.

Yes, the "R" letter can appear in any area of the game. I don't remember if the "R" letter appears in any other area in my INP, but you can see that in "aso" MARP record INP.

It's always ok to confirm the score as it playsback, confirming is for score only. All recordings are subject to later discussion and removal if the confirmed score is achieved in an inappropriate fashion. But is always good not to confirm until you are sure it's at least safe. This issue is not resolved yet. I don't understand the warps enough to know if you can do them infinitively. If you can warp infinitively I think the technique should not be allowed. since anyone can just sit in area1 forever, or sit in area1 to gain enough lives to get as far as they want even though they are not skilled enough to get that far with less lives.

Backward warp are random, you can or cannot find it, you could also find two or three in a row, but there is not a way to find it every time, or to make it appear when you want.
We should allow backward warps, at least until someone demostrates he can gather 'R' whenever he wants.

This is Phil Lamat's decision to degrade recordings that use warp as not acceptable. Based upon someone who believes/knows that the warps are random, the technique seems ok as long as the randomness can not be forced or the randomness does NOT happen always once each level (randomly) at some point.
