MegaPlay inp issues

Is there any specific playback trick I should use for this? For whatever reason my produced MP inps doesn't work at all, regardless of the MAME version used (!)

EDIT: it looks like that it wants -afs on during recording, that's beyond busted

Only issues I remember have been with Streets of Rage 2, but that was more that the driver was crashing. Can't think of any megaplay game that has playback issues. Certainly, it's worked in the past...
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I remember a few issues with Bio-hazard Battle...

Tried to do a bunch of tests with -afs, still doesn't work. And ... tried the MESS route too, that doesn't work either. Guess that I'll put an X for this specific game
