mortal combat

Post by Chad »

Should it be allowed to play reptile between every match to max out the scoring system? It seems rather repetitive and only requires the skill to enter the code to get the extra matches.

Seem ok to me : he finishes the game, and really masters it.
Each additional match is part of the game (codes are allowed on Marp), and I guess playing a bonus match consists in taking one more risk (at least it would for me).

I do agree about the risk, but it is the same opponent just repeated many times. It seems a constant repetition that would not increase or decrease difficulty other than knowing the code and knowing how to defeat reptile. Even though this is not leeching, it appears to be a form of powerup, which rule 2(e) states "may" be allowed. I think allowing this powerup would discourage novice players from submitting because it forces everyone to know the code just to fight reptile 10 times just to have a shot at a good score. It's really nice to know these tricks and the inp belongs here,

but I just want to keep it fun and fair for everyone. If we had more volume might be worth while, but i certainly dont want to discourage Michael from submitting another.

Does this trick work on every version? Ithought it was related to that ninja-turbo-etc... versions.
If it is a trick and/or code present in every MK version I think it should be denied on other romsets. At least on parent one.
If it is strictly related to some hack version we can leave it.

Yeah this could ruin all mortal combat games, and that's what i was affraid of, if it only works on the turbo maybe it's ok for just this clone set.
