K6 - Round 1 - Part 3 - Phelios

Post by gameboy9 »

Round 1 - Part 3

Game - Phelios (phelios)

Target Score: TOP 36 move on round 2 (but according to KnockOut 6’s rules you must be in top 36 considering also the results of part 1 and part 2)

Duration of round: October 7th, 2007 00:00 GMT - October 13, 2007 23:59 GMT

Prize money: Euro 5,00 for the winner of part 3 plus Euro 10,00 for the winner of Round 1

Special bonus (!): Euro 5,00 for every player who will complete the game

MARP’s top score: 619.600 (player ALR)

GAMEST’s top score: 864.770 (player TEN, easy mode, autofire used)

Image

Oh oh! The deadline of round 1 is coming! The TOP 36 players, considering the global results of Round 1, will fight in Round 2; the others will go home! For those who are pretty solid going into the top 36(those with at least 60 points already), you'll probably want to try to compete for the top 18 so you don't risk facing the #1 player in round 2. You'll also want to keep aiming for the top 4 to get a free bye from round 4.
For this game, you can use wolf106. Remember, according to MARP’s rules, autofire isn’t allowed.
We will use easy mode for this game, meaning that hard mode games will be DQed, however, Marco thinks this game is, regardless, going to be REAL TOUGH, hence him mandating his 5 Euro bonus for completing the game.
This one is a mythical shooter. We hope you'll enjoy it! Good luck.

You can suicide each of your lives off on the last level (make sure the boss explodes and then hit a bullet on your last heart) for 95,000 points each time.

Oh, and don't do what I did in the recording I just uploaded. Make sure you suicide soon after you destroy the boss. : )

Looks like this game has some rank to it, almost impossible to no miss past the fire boss.

Yeah, the game does have rank. I just got past the fire boss, no miss, using the same method I used in my replay (screwed up the last level again though, so I'll play more tomorrow).

Just no missed it too while practicing, got lucky with the fireballs though. I'm thinking the 5 euro for each finished game might get expensive...

I don't think it's right that this week does not even include an entire weekend cuz we had no advance notice it was starting Sunday...so Saturday night(USA) lost and almost all of Sunday lost too because it takes a day to just see the post.

Why wasn't this post made with a little advance of at least the dates it was running...then post the game title right when it starts. We would have known to look for it then.

Saturday nights are normally when I do most of my gaming...little time the rest of the week. USA-EDT must submit by 7 pm on Saturday....so no Saturday night of play at all?!?

do we use version 106 for this week?

Should be bolded though, since it blends in with the large paragraph.

It would be helpful to have some sort of list that says when each week starts/ends. You can figure it out yourself though since each round lasts a week, and then there's 24hrs of downtime, and then the next week starts (Pang started on a friday, Pole Position started on a saturday, Phelios started on a sunday).

I don't quite understand this post. The game was announced yesterday at 8:00PM so that was your saturday night right there. The next game always starts a week plus one day after the previous one, so it's no secret when the game is announced.

The game is always announced at 00:00 GMT. It's not like there's any big surprise as to when the game is posted.

This issue came up in K5 I think, where someone wasn't happy about the game being announced in the middle of the weekend. But, those are the rules, a 24-hour break period between rounds and so the next round starts on the next day and ends exactly a week later. What would you have done differently, a 48-hour break period so it starts on Sunday night in the US?

It's not possible to come up with a schedule that's absolutely perfect for 60+ players all over the world, and they're not going to change it to favor any one person.

I'm trying to find where all the points come from in the WR. CH1 - Blowing up the skull area at the right time. CH2 - Leeching the pot enemies while not making the pots explode, and leeching the "witch" heads. CH3 - Leeching the axes/skeletons and bird feathers on the boss. CH4 - Leeching the firebirds. CH7 - Suicide x5, then finish on your last life with 2 hearts (620,000pts)

That would only give ~825,000 if you did it very very well. I am missing something, 40,000 points...

CH1 - 33,890
CH2 - 56,350
CH3 - 54,260
CH4 - 59,650
CH7 - 620,000

Anyone see any other points?

http://khex.blog42.fc2.com/blog-entry-125.html On this site, there is this image: http://blog42.fc2.com/k/khex/file/PheliosAlte01.png

Where are those extra 10,000 points in CH1?

Is there a limit to how long you can leech witch heads and firebirds? It's entirely possible to kill them without hitting the boss. If there's no time limit maybe that's where the points came from.
