Anyone got a replay of Ghosts and Goblins completed?

Just wondering whether anyone has made a replay of ghosts and goblins played from start to finish as opposed to just a high-score.

I haven't yet seen one on MARP and I've watched several inps. It is
irritating to see people going for points and not finish the game. I
can only appreciate points maximisation when the person is good enough
to go on and finish the game as well. Thankfully there was a cleanup
recently that has removed the more outrageous points leeching abuses
of this game.

I have finished the game a few times but never on one credit - came
close one time. You have to play the game through twice to get the
good ending - the first time is called an illusion and you are sent
back to level 1 just like in Ghouls & Ghosts. You also have to get the
shield or cross (depending on what variant you are playing) before
killing the two large devils at the end of stage 5 or you can't enter
the boss room and will be sent back to a previous level. The
difficulty picks up the 2nd time through. After the 2nd time through
the game repeats.

You can find a recording on a japanese site http://www.mamenavi.com/
showing a successful 2 cycle run through game with the good ending.
Click on the first link in the left frame under the Replay section.
Look for the game 'makaimur' which is the japanese version of the
game. The game appears to be either an easier variant than 'gng' which
I usually play or is set to an easier dip switch setting - I suspect
the latter. The recording shows no points leeching which is a 'breath
of fresh air' after the ones I've seen on MARP. The apparant leeching
in stage 4 the second time through is actually an attempt to get the
shield which eluded the player for a couple of lives. The player shows
a neat way of getting the shield by repeatedly going up and down a
ladder near the end of the stage to trigger an enemy each time. The
player finishes the 2 cycle good ending with 438,500 points and then
abandons the game and his remaining lives - so he could have got a
much higher score. An excellent effort indeed.

Now I want to see a competitive, respectable gng replay on MARP.
Surely this is within us. We have many excellent players out there but
I honestly feel that gng is under represented on MARP. Let's get some
runs on the board here guys! I think this is going to be the next inp
that I submit on MARP (the first for a long time too). I know it will
take me a few weeks to 'skill up' though.

I'm also very curious to see the end of the game , I think the
solution stands in 3 letters : BBH ... or maybe Blost or Ben Jos ?
They 're damn so good at this type of games !

OK... I'd like you to search the short game makaimur<p>

This is a Ghosts N' Goblins clone - and this will show a completion
of the game if I'm not mistaken made my Myx.

<p>

Now this is recorded in MAME 30 - so you have to unzip the roms into
the right directory(and I think the rom name is different too!
gngjap was the name) and put the INP where the MAME executable is.

I have almost finnished the game Ghost4s and goblins,died
at level 6 (cleared it once with the shield and got the illusion)
It was made on one credit in our arcade in Sweden in 86 I think.

I don4t remember the settings on the game but after playing
all the clones i think it was the "gng" version,not a bootleg.
What i remember most is that i continued about 20 credits after
that and didn4t even got those satans at the end of level 6...
My score was not high.. I played more or less to finnish the game.
I scored 400-500.00 something. My recordings on the MARP page
is a mere shadow of my former gameplay (I cannot seem to get past
level six with the shield, first time nowadays..)BUT i will try I
promise...
The problem with ghosts4n goblins (and even more ghouls and ghousts)
is that it is rather easy to level 6 BUT then it is so f**ing
hard to beat those two satans at the end with the shield..(even with
the knife..) Once they are gone with the shield The big giant devil
or "real" satan is not so difficult to beat..

Hi folks.<p>

I finaly finished Ghosts4n & Goblins!!
But it was on the japanese version called Makai-Mura and
the settings was:
The inp. file is up on the MARP page Rob.

Difficulty: Easy
Men to start with: Default
Extra men: Default

<p>

The only thing I changed in the dipswitch settings was
from Normal to easy in the Difficulty.
But one thing that is strange was that i didn4t found the game
much easier on the "Easy" settings more than those
big "satans" at level 5 and level 6...

<p>

I also had some luck with finding the shield..Both times..
I didn4t have to wait at the ladder and shoot ghosts on level 5 at
all..

I will try to make it on the Normal setting now..
