INSANE!!! The best MARP input in my opinion!!!

Post by TRB_MetroidTeam »

I would posted it in the thread "The official awesome replay thread", however I think this replay deserves an exclusive post.

Player: nol
Game(s): sf2 & sf2j
I lost the number... of how many Double K.O.s and/or Draw Games!!!

For sure, if not "tool assisted" (I think is NOT tool assisted), congratulations for the excellent record!

However, win37b13 is the version... not a "safety" version. Is possible this replay used "tools"???

to BBH, Mahlemiut, Innuendo and Moreno-DF

Hmmm... Mainly to BBH, Mahlemiut, Innuendo and Moreno-DF...
I saw this old replay just today... I sux at non-GUI versions...
Before it, I EVER though that Fierce Shoryuken when Guile knocked down and get up with Summersault Kick was copyrighted by me!!! Ouch!!! I developed it myself, and never saw it before... :(

Some other techniques I "discovered" nol used too...
- Fierce Shoryuken against Guile;
- Medium Ground Kick to Sagat to jump;
- To jump UP to Vega, and Strong Kick, again and again (this technique is old...)

I don't remember all the details of his inp, but... you don't have to do a Fierce Shoryuken to bait Guile into doing his Somersault Kick. Even a Jab Shoryuken is enough. I don't think you can claim credit for this one because I remember ripping off this tactic from somebody else in the arcade days, when I had finally learned how to do special moves consistently :P

It's usually a bit silly to claim any tactic in a fighting game has only been figured out by yourself, especially when it comes to CPU patterns... lots of people all over the world will play it and pick up some of the same tricks that you did. It's hard to take credit for anything like that. (only instance I can think of in which a technique was named after a player was the "Valle Custom Combo" in SFA2)

Ops... read "weak/jab" instead of my "fierce"... sorry.

For sure... :) However to me it was a little "glory" to use a good tactic/technique without to see/to know it before :)

CPU patterns (mainly in these old SFs) sux... I never liked to play fighting against the CPU... it was created to head-to-head game. Obviously your opinion is the same.

Yep... it may be an Alex Valle combo. Of course, in the level of these guys, can be "copyrighted" moves, for sure! 8)

About NOL's SF2J inp, if memory serves he did 12 DrawGames/DoubleKOs!!!
If someday I get all perfect, I will be very happy :D
