WolfMAME Plus 0.72

Post by mahlemiut »

http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/wolfmameplussrc-072.zip (source)
http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-072.zip (Win32 console and GUI)

Notes: I've only added the rand() fix for Poly Play in this version, as that is the only game I can recall of those affected that has playback issue, and an actual random number generation mechanism. I need feedback on the others - use http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-071u2-2.zip to test them. The list of affected drivers is included in the zip.

Also, I've disabled the Neo Geo hacks. No need for those to be included. To disable them in the source, open the makefile, and comment out "USE_NEOGEO_HACKS=1".

NeoGeo hacks? As in something relating to emu'ing the Neo Geo... or do you mean hacked neogeo roms or something or other.. [tired atm, hence no sense]

It relates to emulation, namely the startup test, which is now done as per MAME 0.72.

Wolf MAME 72

Post by kranser »

Thanks Barry, Wolf MAME 72 is fantastic!

However, 1 problem: When recording you are not allowed to pause, but during playback you cannot pause either (whereas in Alphamame you could pause during playback).

Any chance of allowing pause when not recording?

Thanks,
Kranser.

ahh, glad i'm not the only one that noticed that, I thought it was just my stupid computer that is actually working very smartly now that i know it's wolfmame's fault.

Ask this in the emulation forum at the TG web site.

I am the TGreferee for MacMAME.

I'm pretty sure wolfmame would be accepted but always nice to check and be sure before setting some nice score then it not being accepted.

there is a way to "pause" playbacks with out P, since by default, the confirm exit is turned on (this should be turned OFF in future wolf mame's in my opinion), you can press esc to pause the playbacking, although you can't print a screen shot in this state like you can in pause mode.

Another feature i noticed that might be thrown along with the mame plus stuff, is if you hit shift P it doesn't pause but it plays back in slow motion...

Probably a pointless question:

I want to playback a recording made without NVram, with an existing NVram. I know i can do -allownvram when recording, but I don't really know what I'm doing doswise - what should i be typing when playing back eg gamename inpname?

is it: mame32p gamename -allownvram -playback inpname? or some combination of the above? is it even possible?

I normally use the GUI one hehe :/

If you need to use NVRAM when either recording OR playing back, then yes, you need to add -allownvram. Your commandline use looks fine, other than you should be using mamep. mame32p is the GUI version. :)
