Did anyone withdraw from the tournament, my position raised in every
game in 1 from one day to the other?!

Geeesh, fuck, MARP MUST STAY ALIVE!

What must a server be able to do to maintain MARP?
let me know

It was BeeJay. He zeroed out all his scores, i think he was second or
third while doing this.

Yes, it was BeeJay. For the record, he was running an extremely close
2nd place trailing by a mere 2 points. I'm very sorry to see him go
as he is one of MARP's top players and the tourney will be a bit less
in stature because of his departure. It was a great run, BeeJay, and
I hope sometime in the future you can be back to join us. You'll
always be the Bombjack King!

BTW, rough, the "f-word" is kinda frowned on when posting on the
message boards. ;)

Why'd Beejay leave? Was it because of the surge of inferior
recordings as of late, the possibilty that MARP may close or
something completely different...

'Tis a shame, he is a great competitor.. one of MARP's finest.

He's obviously back in the tournament on position 2!

I am also wondering about Gameboy's score of 347 instead of the 247
his position would fit to, small cgi error?!

Not really - more of a joke. Gameboy gets 10 bonus points for each game, but it doesn't affect his position in the table. I was playing his quiz game one night, and he was giving me bonus points all over the place, so I've given him a few back in exchange. There's corruption wherever you look, right?

But if you want to know his real score, just take 120 off the number displayed.

Great to see confirmation that we have indeed attracted the little
kiddie warez mentality crowd to MARP...nice going, rough. Use all the
little 4-letter words that little boys shout when they have nothing
else to contribute on your own time in your own home all you want.
But show some maturity when you make posts in a public forum. You
don't go around your hometown yelling these kinds of statements out
loud, do you? If so, I'm sure it's being met with the same kinds of
shaking heads of those around you.

Nobody's going to censor your words or emotions...we were hoping you
were grown up enough to do that on your own.

I see no big difference as you, Joust God, between words
like "milk", "car" or "fuck" (the 4-letter-word-like-you-say), there
are no BAD words as you are trying to tell me and I dont need to
prove anyone at last you how mature I am or not. Know what, YOUR
behaviour is childish, that's the point, you've got a problem with
expressions but that is not my problem.
I will write what I want and you can make small mice big as an
elephant if you like you just will make me smile here behind my
computer how narrow-minded someone can be.

And about "warez-mentality", I know what you mean and this is
something completely different than you are trying to say.

And if, like your words say, being "mature" means to censor
yourself..then good night! Actually being mature means when you pass
the age of 18/21. To me it would mean to go my own path, to be honest
and to take a stand. But actually it doesnt because I dont divide
between mature/childhood, life is one long flow to me and I see no
reason to fell superior to others just because they have smaller age
than me. (Know what I mean? Not? Nevermind!)

And to calm you down: NO, I wont use the word fuck in every single
post from me for nothing.

I believe the assertion JoustGod was trying to impart was that a
significant proportion of MARP consider the f-word an unacceptable
use of the vernacular. While it is your choice whether or not you
choose to side with this assertion, it is considered good etiquette
to observe the same or similar standards as the majority when in a
public forum. You may like to argue this is prudish and restrictive
when in reality it is a requirement of a civilised society. Without
such implied moral standards society would quickly regress to a more
primitive "tribal warfare" mentality - just look at how quickly the
hunted becomes the hunter in moral-less struggles of power such as
the former Yugoslav states have most recently demonstrated.

Now we could get into a long involved philosophical discussion on
this subject but I think we'd all sooner just play some more MAME
games.

In conclusion, I would like to second JoustGod's polite request that
you refrain your use of the f-word vernacular in this forum.

Hahaha, "please",be so "polite" not to waste my time anymore with your
"world-view" which yellow press and mainstream media tells you to
think and to let you learn one thing in your work - turn out - sleep -
work - turn out etc life: It would be a great win for me and our
planet earth if we had a "uncivilised" society instead the total fuck
of the USA which is the most terrorist country in the world!!
Yeah,I know, you think it's all for the matter of "freedom" and I know
any further discussion on this topic is useless with people whose
main interest are computer games.

OK, rough, you've now perpetuated your legend as an anti-social,
counterculture wannabe. Why do I say wannabe? Because the real deal
would come up with solutions and alternatives instead of the type of
vague whining and griping that seems to be the main thrust of your
posts.

Let me address some of the issues you have brought up since you're so
presumptious as to believe you can identify my character traits. In
case you're wondering, all of the comments in quotation marks are
directly lifted from your posts.

First the comment from you:

"I dont need to prove anyone at last you how mature I am or not. Know
what, YOUR behaviour is childish, that's the point, you've got a
problem with expressions but that is not my problem."

Since when did I or anyone ask you to prove your maturity? And I've
got a problem with expressions? I don't think so. The language I use
in my own enviroment is vastly cruder than the language I use in a
public forum like this. The difference here between us is that I have
the common sense to pare down my language in a public forum so as to
not be viewed as a ranting child.

Comment #2 (and this is one of the funniest):

"Actually being mature means when you pass the age of 18/21."

You're kidding, right? So, in your world, a mere number automatically
graduates you into the real, adult world? Hmmm, interesting theory
but it doesn't hold water and when you get older you'll find this to
be true. There are an incredible amount of "adults" that have all the
social skills development of an 8 year-old child. And I'm not
referring to those with mental disabilities.

#3...

"To me it would mean to go my own path, to be honest and to take a
stand. But actually it doesnt because I dont divide between
mature/childhood, life is one long flow to me and I see no reason to
fell superior to others just because they have smaller age
than me. (Know what I mean? Not? Nevermind!)"

Ah, the presumptious nature surfaces here. The approach of going on
your own path, being honest and taking a stand is fine and I applaud
you for that kind of thinking. It is needed in a world that is
increasingly being homogenized by none other than the very medium
that we are using right now! Ironic, isn't it? The commentary that
you felt were needed in brackets at the end were you assuming(I
presume ;)) that I didn't have a clue as to what you were getting
at...let me break down the word "assume" for you. It often makes an
"ass" out of "u" and has "me" shaking my head in amazement.

and on to #4...

"And to calm you down: NO, I wont use the word fuck in every single
post from me for nothing."

First off, why do you assume that I'm not calm? I'm not the one here
who's ardently defending the use of the word "fuck"...you calm down.
I could really care less what becomes of you after all is said and
done. As a matter of fact, I find you amusing because of your pseudo-
intellectual stance on issues that you address. You can rant...well,
anyone can do that...but you don't seem to offer much in the way of
solutions. Very typical of the standard pseudo-intellectual. And your
overuse of the word "fuck" (that's 4 out of 5 posts in this thread)
simply does not acheive anything beyond watering down its impact. If
you truly feel the need to use this kind of language to express
yourself, then don't use this word every time you feel some kind of
negative emotion. It only serves to conjure up the "boy who cried
wolf" syndrome in which the townspeople (MARP community in this case)
begin to ignore the crier after hearing "wolf" (or in this case
"fuck") for the umpteenth time.

Your responses to BeeJay seem to beg a rebuttal or two also:

"Hahaha, "please",be so "polite" not to waste my time anymore with
your "world-view" which yellow press and mainstream media tells you
to think and to let you learn one thing in your work - turn out -
sleep - work - turn out etc life"

So, I see you're able to use key left-wing expressions such as
"yellow paper". No, for most of us the mainstream media doesn't
necessarily dictate how we live our lives. Most of us do what we have
to do to get along in life as far as making ends meet. You might be
surprised to find out, however, that most of us also have a lot more
going on in our lives than the work-turn out-sleep cycle that you
suggest and have obviously bought into through the sub-culture media.

onward...

"It would be a great win for me and our planet earth if we had a
"uncivilised" society instead the total fuck of the USA which is the
most terrorist country in the world!!"

A great win for you? How's that? Yet another vague comment with no
substance. Maybe if you could make more than vague commentary, we
could all understand your point-of-view a little better. I'm
interested in hearing how the uncivilized society theory works. You
obviously have a problem with the USA and that's fine...you're not
alone. We in the USA are far from perfect and everyone of us realizes
that, but at least we put in the effort and offer some kind of
solution to make the world a better place even for people like you
who openly oppose what we stand for but, ironically, will be the
first in line to enjoy the fruits of our labor. In this case, I'm
referring to the medium that you have chosen to use so that you can
voice your opinion to the rest of the world (and there are so many
outlets other than the MARP board!). If you think the USA is so vile
and terroristic, why don't you really make a stand and stay off the
net (the medium in which could not have developed to this extent so
quickly without the USA's involvement). Then you'd truly be making a
valid stand.

and the final comments from you...

"Yeah,I know, you think it's all for the matter of "freedom" and I
know any further discussion on this topic is useless with people
whose main interest are computer games. "

Freedom is what you make of it. You can abuse it all you want, but
believe me, the moment that you no longer have it you'll be one
unhappy human being longing for that so-called "freedom". If the
USA's deal is so bad then perhaps you can explain to me about the
hordes of people desperately trying to make their way into this
country, legally or illegally. I know this makes me sound "patriotic"
or whatever. I'm far from the "patriotic" type, believe it or not.
But I do know a good thing when I have it so when I hear half-witted
commentary from someone with no other alternatives to present to the
rest of us, then it's just too tempting not to reply to.

Two points about that last comment: Since when did you present a
"discussion"? You're approach borders on childish, mind-washed,
cliche-using rants, not discussion. It's easy to say that if you were
presenting your case in court, the judge would most likely throw the
case out because of insufficient evidence. But then again, the judge
is probably just another robotic, brain-washed pawn of civilized
society, isn't he? So therefore, his opinion doesn't matter because
it doesn't conform to your idealistic world where everybody can do
exactly what they please without thought of the implications their
actions can bring.

As far as the comment on us have only a main interest in computer
games goes, I think I addressed that in the comments above.

Oh and in case you're still concerned on me being calm...don't worry,
I never was anything but calm throughout these posts with you. I'm
always calm when I'm enjoying myself. And if I don't have immediate
responses to your retorts, don't kid yourself into thinking that
you've "won", it's probably because I have a life outside of all this
that I'm attending to.

Ya know, just this weekend I was watching some mob movie with Robert
De Niro in it...

There was this scene where Pescano(sp?), a boss who's base of
operations was a small grocery, was ranting about what his rivals
were doing to him. His mother, who kept the books for the operations,
waas chiding him about his language the whole time he was complaining
and telling his brother the sort of treatment he was getting and who
was doing him wrong.

When it went to a commercial break, I said "Killing people is ok, but
cursing isn't?"

Funny thing though ... because he'd been so vocal about who was doing
what, the feds found out everything they wanted to know about
everything going on in Vegas just by bugging that store, and the
guy's Type A temper threw him into a heart attack when they came to
arrest him.
