Does anyone know how to convert a png (snap) to a bmp, gif, or jpg? Any help will be useful. Thanks.

Bill,

You simply need to get hold of a paint program that handles the PNG
format. It's quite a common format that most recent releases of the
common paint/graphics programs handle.

I personally use Paint Shop Pro which has no problems handling or
converting PNG files. Hopefully someone else here can post the name
of a freeware program that you can use to convert the files.

PS: There's also the cheap man's alternative to convert them to a
bitmap but you won't be able to batch convert them and it will
require more work on your part. All graphics displayed on a windows
screen get converted to a bitmap anyway, so open the PNG files with
your browser, take a screen dump to the clipboard and then paste this
into your favourite paint program and crop it as required......
painfull I know but it will work....

I find the easiest way, other than using PSP, is to use the Set As
Wallpaper option. Load the PNG into your browser, right-click on it
and select 'Set as Wallpaper...' This will convert it to a BMP in
either your Windows or System folder (I can't remember which) as
Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp or something similar.
