cprogolf Scoring

Post by roncli »

I would put this to vote, but the only scoring method I can think of is HolesComplete * 100 - strokes.

Currently, they're scoring it by total number of strokes. BAAAAAAAAD idea. :)

Aren't the other golf games scored 180-strokes?

If so, take a zero off your suggestion (make it 10*holes - strokes).

That'd work too. Anyone else with ideas for a scoring system for this game?

Anyone else? If its played over 18 holes we should score it like we score all other Golf games.

Bye.

This is a wide shoot, but does someone have a list of all golf games currently supported by MAME?

Bye.

Wide shoot? Maybe you mean 'long shot'? :)

In fact, several golf game shas already this type of scoring on MARP : 200 - nb strokes

We used it for tpgolf in a tournament, we also have gtg/gtg2 working with that scoring, I don't remember others ; we also should take 200- strokes for cprogolf IMO

Search on the chat gives :
MAME Game Search: golf -> Cassette: Pro Golf [cprogolf], Fighting Golf (set 2) [fitegol2], Fighting Golf (set 1) [fitegolf], Golfing Greats [glfgreat], Golfing Greats (Japan) [glfgretj], Golden Tee Golf [gtg], Golden Tee Golf II (Trackball, V2.2) [gtg2], Golden Tee Golf II (Joystick, V1.0) [gtg2j], Golden Tee Golf II (Trackball, V1.1) [gtg2t], Vs. Stroke and Match Golf (Ladies Version) [ladygolf], Mini Golf (set 2) [minigol2]

Yes of course, I did think it sounded weird and silly but I was sure it was wide :)

Don't forget, you don't play all 18 holes on this game (unless you kick some ass), so it would be better at 10 * Holes - Strokes.

The scoring system we use with some golf games allows the use of more credits, so that you can play all 18 holes.

Ahh.. that would have to be voted on, wouldn't it? And by 2/3?

18 holes would be kewl on a golf game. Maybe a little long, but still fun.
