VS Super Mario Bros 1st and 2nd places....

Post by QRS »

I may be wrong but was not the (in) famous "Staircase-leeching" on world 6-2 banned as a illegal thing to do? Our "Friend" Richy cream uses that in his 1.8mil recording... (2nd place)

The firstplace recording (2 mil) uses the trick on the X-4 levels wich gives you 999 in time left and about 50k bonus... I though both of those tricks were considered as illegal techs.. Its very easy to do them too, and that makes it even more pathetic in my eyes.

We had a big long thread somewhere on the old board about this, and I think that it was not allowed.

Can someone please look into this? Strangely enough those two recordings are confirmed...

It is not hard getting 2 mil using those kind of tricks. Not hard to max the score if using the Staircase trick either :)

My 1.5 mil recording is clean from those tricks, and I was hoping the others would be too, but that´s not the case.

It should be noted, that Richy only does this once, without dying, on 6-2 (or whatever stage it was).

And this thread should also be noted: viewtopic.php?t=6231&highlight=richy+cream

What does everyone else think about this (or does no one really care).

Good call, Gameboy. Turtle leeching is not only lame, but fairly random as to how many points you can get, because you don't hit the turtle the same number of times with every jump.
