not sure what you mean here. This thread is about 2-player games...

For gauntlet you are free to use whichever of the 4 characters you want to use..but only 1 of them(1-player game).

Your list seems to describe differences of different characters in the game.

now if for some of those games you listed 2P really means what the 2nd player would have in a 2-player game...no choice in what strengths or weaknesses you have, then ok...

That definitely isn't the case with gauntlet though. I can play by myself and play as the elf, or wizard, or valkyrie, or warrior. it has nothing to do with a 1-player versus 2-player game. I'm not familiar with the other games to comment on those.

It would almost be cool if MARP divided score tracking for gauntlet using each character though. Currently they are all together. A couple are with elf...a couple with warrior. one might even be using the wizard...would need to check again.

seriously though, I respect Hisa's vast knowledge of arcade games. Even though we've had our differences (and that's putting it mildly), I appreciate his taking the time to post information that isn't common knowledge to most players.

so with that being said, let's continue...

Hisa: Do you know if there are any advantages using second player in any of the two Batsugun versions?

I have a score I need to confirm :)

there is no difference between 1P ship and 2P ship.

some player use the display of "Insert coin 1P" to make pattern "Stage 4's 59,630 points leeching".
I always use 1P.(type B) pirot is beautiful. (2P seemed very ugly)
C-type's play show you almost everything worthy tricks.

Hi all :)

There is also Thunder Dragon 2. The 2p ship is faster and take advantage for shoot the letters in the beginning of the stages. For enemy fast kill also.

And for Nostradamus, the 1p ship and 2p Ship have very different firepower. I prefer the fire power of the 2p one :)

Ok , speaking of shooters, Recently I watched and confirmed a game where the player designated (mapped) the forward fire and ground fire as the same button. On the real machine, they would be seperate buttons.
Would you say this is ok?

Depends on the game really. Probably not too much of an issue for shooters though, IMO.
