Anteater is better, because there is randomness in it (mazes+enemies).
Here, this is only pattern :evil:

Save states don't work for me, in any version (0.106 or 0.143)
Anyone got luckier ?
Yeah says "unable to save/load due to pending anonymous timers" for me. There are methods to get around this, by setting the timers to null, but its beyond me (Just going from a quick google search earlier)

This is a pretty fun game but it's my opinion that this type of game is more a test of memorizing levels than game playing skills and this really favors the person who has the most time. Not having save states makes this issue even bigger.

Barthax-I only played for about an hour last night but when I finally got around to recording a game, I think I lost all three of my lives on level 10.

Barthax the way to beat level ten is to mostly use the two entry points at the bottom to clear all the stars in the middle first and then try and lure the jokers down there while you move to one of the higher points to clear the top stars, but I found it took quite a bit of practice.

RAX wrote:34 match? I thougth they were going to be 32. Any triple matchup in Round3 too?
Yes, Round 3 will have some 3P matches in Winners Bracket, and many in Losers Bracket.
RAX wrote:And how Triple matchup in Round2 will finish? Winner only will advance and the two losers go to losers-bracket, correct?
Only the 1st placed in each match will advance in Winners bracket. The other players will play Round 3 in Losers bracket.

I remember I used savestates for this game earlier... I will try to confirm what was the version later...

Please remember... there are only 7h30 left for the NewComers say hello.
Reminder: if you didn't play Round 1 and wanna enter in the "Slots" in Round 2, you are a "NewComer", and you NEED to to post your interest publicly in the forum, before THIS TIME (Link)! And submit the 1st time before THIS TIME (Link)!
@ ZID: It looks like Trauma from Spain want to play in Round 2. Tell him to consider this time limit. If he submit a score on GOGOMILE with K9 in the description, it's valid (like simpsons99 did).

@mahlemiut: Please look for Trauma forum account to be activated.

Dick Moreland and simpsons99 are the NewComers. Maybe Trauma too. There are more?

Yep, I am working in a Bracket file, and I want to post something tonight.
Lunch time for now... Good games guys!

Closest that I found was TrauMan, with a spanish e-mail, so I've activated that one. Is this correct?

Hi guys!

The NewComers in Round 2 are:
Slot01 = Dick Moreland / Beaversfan [USA]
Slot02 = simpsons99 [USA]
Slot03 = TrauMan [Spain]

Attention to TrauMan: You NEED to do a GOGOMILE submission before the followind time limit (19 hours from now)! Dick Moreland and simpsons99 already submitted, and they are OK.

And about the BRACKETS, I have this file at this moment (I am finishing the Losers Brackets and the formulas):

I just updated the 1st post of this thread, with the matches and this link.

What is the difference between to start the tournament in the round 1 or round 2?

I claim that many classics are harder (than later games), test you gaming abilities in more basic areas - and their learning curve and increase in difficulty is different, more steep I feel. As I've always said...back then the gameplay was king and games were innovative - later on it became graphics and "extra features"...bosses, powerups etc.

Anyway, good luck Chrono and hopefully I'll be able to give you a fight. :)
Ooops, sorry if I'm answering just now, I missed this post. :?
I didn't mean that old old games were hard, but usually they can be really frustrating. There are often repeated levels, repeated gameplay, etc.
Yep, they were innovative and all, but if you don't like the game is a suffer to play it for a week.

By the way, good luck to you too, hopefully you're playing. :D

No problem sir, I'm only submitting my first inp now... :oops:

Yeah, but isn't that true for any game...

Thanks, I need it!

I'm doubtful if I play more than for modest 350k I submitted couple hour ago. It's actually a very good game...but it pisses me off that while I play I get a feeling I should be watching Dan's inp instead. I sort of feel that this is a round of who can copycat Dan the best...

Incredible inp by Dan I have to say, I don't think he made a single mistake and got pretty much maximum points for every level! You learned the the game/tactics very quickly as well...looks almost like job well done and good luck for next round...

Or, maybe I'm bluffing...
:)
(I'm not)

Nah. theres something about the classics. Theyre hard yes, but with practice you can have that "moment of zen" feeling that I just dont get with modern games ie post 89'. You master some technique that allows you to crack those levels never seen by average players. Then the challenge really begins. Classix rock
