Maybe in K9 we can do winner and loser brackets so that people have a second chance after fighting a really strong opponent

Are you referring to a double elimination format? Well, it was run in the 5th Knockout Tournament. If I remember right, most people didn't like that format because you weren't "knocked out" when you "lost"... they'd rather have win or go home.

Thanks.
I'll tell you a secret: real life issues didn't gave me any opportunity to improve my record in the last two days. ;)

Solution: have all those people begin in the losers bracket =)

Darn it! I was hoping that MJS was going to come through so we would have a HARP matchup of Kale vs. MJS in the elite 8... but it wasn't to be. :( (although, BBH submitted nine recordings back in the day and TRB submitted three, so we do have a HARP matchup there. :) )

Anyway, I'd thought I'd so some analysis of the next matchups... comparing their scores against each other had they played against each other in the previous five games.

(1) BBH vs. (9) TRB, 12122, 2 - 3
(4) Zerstorung vs. (5) Redstar 11122, 3 - 2
(3) PAC vs. (6) Kale 11122, 3 - 2
(2) LAWLZSHOOTERGAMES vs. (10) 11111, DaLar 5 - 0

(the five numbers before the result are who won each game... 1 means the former, 2 means the later.)

But... I don't know... if the game's right, I have a feeling the first one is going to be the "feature match"... But I suspect that we're going to have a lot of good matches coming up! Good luck to all!

Well, it's been a fun tournament for me too!
Cheers and thanks to the organizers, specially to Ghemant, you are doing a great job as always man.
K8 has certainly been worth the wait, and now I will follow it from the outside (sigh) but at least I was eliminated by a great player (go PAC!).
Well, to be honest my wishes are mixed now, I want PAC to win for Spain, but also TRB for Brazil! :D

Last I want to say that as it's been with all MARP tournaments, the best thing for me is to play with the top MARP players, talk on IRC about the games, talk again to old friends, and of course, meeting new people.
I'm happy to have met new spanish friends, playing with my friends from HARP (Kale, gb9, barry), with my french buddies sawys and phil, and my all-time friends barry (again), bbh, and valter.

Good luck to all the players still on track, and see you all on the next tourney! =D>
