Passion for neckties

Who knows my real name or knows me in real, surely also knows that I'm a big fan of neckties. Well, I must clarify immediately that I'm not a fan of any kind of tie: I dislike all those common and (pretended to be) fancy ties that u can usually see around and I have instead a real passion for the so called "novelty" ties, being most likely the biggest collector of them in my country (Italy). What do I find so nice in them? Well, "novelty ties" (usually in polyester) have a specific content printed on: not just a solid colour, not a fantasy or geometric or abstract or paisley pattern, not just stripes in regimental style... they have a special design with something well defined (an object/animal/cartoon/character/famous painting/etc), that becomes important to make the necktie more attractive.
Even if rare to be reproduced on neckties (mostly for copyright reasons), arcades couldn't be any longer an exception, so some time ago a brand put on the market some special ties (in microfiber and silk), named "Game Tie" and reproducing the screenshot of some of the first and most famous arcades: Space Invaders, Pong, Tetris, Asteroids, Duck Hunt (actually rare). Here u can see them, that of course I won't miss for my own collection :D

Cool. I especially like that Asteroids tie, wonder how many kids nowadays would instantly recognize that it's a game tie.

Also Space Invaders tie has some weird attraction... I don't know if it's silly or very very cool. =D>

I'd wear all of them, not at once, at work with my suit!! Not that I wear a suit at work these days, but if I did I'd absolutely wear any one of those ties!!!

Cheers,
BeeJay.

Thanks for ur comment :) I think that it's impossible to recognize instanly nowadays that it's a game tie, and not only for kids :D If myself hadn't played Asteroids when I was a baby (hardly reaching the cabinet's controller), I wouldn't even recognize... and well, imho the Space Invaders one is very very cool

U r right one million% In fact at work I wear a suit everyday (I work in a notary office), so I can indulge my mood wearing everytime some "novelty ties" from my own huge collection (one per day, never the same twice). I'll post soon some more related pics and especially the pic of the tie that I wore to celebrate my 1000th worn tie... I bet u'll like it
Greetings,

krn

Unfortunately this depends on screenshots used for printing the tie. U see, they take what they can find around, hardly take them from marp players' games :D Anyway, if the poor score really bothers u, u may try another Space Invaders tie, patterned (so also more "serious") and with no scores

P.S. my avatar would be pretty good for a custom printed tie, but as it's not arcade related I wouldn't post it here when I'll get it 8)
