While researching something for Hector I found two frames in the hammer throw that show an extra "mystery" grid. You can't see this when playing at full speed since they aren't on the screen long enough.

Here's the first frame after it zooms out to the full field view on the throw. Note that the hammer is shown way down the field even though you really just released it. Also note the little table grid:

Here's the second frame after the zoom out. Is that some sort of calibration for deciding if you can get the elusive 99.99 throw that requires something "extra" besides perfect throws down the line?

Here's the third frame after the zoom out. From here on everything looks normal and the hammer moves out a frame at a time and the angle increases by 2 degrees per frame you hold the jump button down.

Has anybody ever noticed the little grid on these 2 frames? Anybody have any idea what the mean, if anything?

Few years ago I saw a dump of images of T'n'F, there was a strange and never seen thing (can't remember what): I imagined it was the bonus for three hammer throw of same result. I tried many times with savestates but never succeeded in that.
